  1. Sorry to burst your bubble, but the O's pen is near the bottom tier of the MLB. And the Jays have a far superior pen. And Chris Davis is bound to regress.. and they have offensive black holes at 2B and C. The defense is #1, however--which is good, considering their bad pitching staff.
  2. O's and Yanks lose--Jays now only 3 back again.
  3. Possible, but it's more likely to be: Red Sox (could change depending on the pitching--beating Colorado is one thing--but what about elite teams? Colorado is a bad team that's played over it's head.) Jays Rays (hard to call this one) Orioles (not enough pitching) Yankees (not enough offense)
  4. He'd better sign--or he'll be drafted by the Astros or Marlins next year as a top pick most likely after he goes to school for one more year.
  5. Indians now lead 4-3 after Stubbs beats out a potential DP.
  6. JJ blows a save--Chisenhall scores on a forceout.
  7. Jim Johnson's about to blow a save..bases loaded with no outs, and they're IBBing Carlos Santana(who just PH for Yan Gomes, who went 0-2 with a BB, and is hitting .252 BTW.
  8. Boston is most likely to finish 1st right now--although it will depend on whether the pitching staff holds up and Buchholz gets healthy.
  9. Yankees. Even with Pineda returning to the pitching rotation, their offense is pretty ugly--and with Tex gone, they're stuck with Overbay. There's no guarantee what Jeter and A-Rod will bring--especially coming off serious injuries. In addition, Cano's numbers are down due to the inability to hit left-handed pitching. Interestingly enough, the Yanks best player isn't Robinson Cano--it's Brett Gardner, and that's sad. If Cano is going to get a $200M+ contract, then he'd better start playing like it.
  10. Yankees aren't worth showing right now with that awful roster. Tigers/Angels have huge stars such as Carbrera, Fielder, Pujols, Hamilton, Trout, Trumbo.. guess which one Sportsnet would choose?
  11. As I have said previously, the Red Sox are the least likely to fall off--their success is real, unlike the Yankees(no offense), Orioles(not enough pitching) and Rays(inconsistency with bats and pitching)
  12. Now it's official: Roch Kubatko ‏@masnRoch Bundy surgery scheduled for tomorrow in fla As I said, major blow to the Orioles. After Kevin Gausman, they have no depth in decent pitching prospects above A+ ball.
  13. It should be also noted that Boston is struggling--they're a .500 team in their last 10 and 20 games.
  14. Red Sox better pray that Salty doesn't cost he and the pitchers games--with Ross gone, defensively challenged Saltalamacchia is basically playing all the time right now and hurting the Sox pitchers. And note to Reyes, Davis and Bonifacio--RUN! Salty is one of the worst at throwing baserunners out--at 19%(only Chris Ianetta of the Angels is worse)
  15. And they have a good shot--the Red Sox staff is far inferior to the Rays. And Buchholz won't be back anytime soon--and Lester continues to struggle badly.
  16. Pretty much official or close to it: http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/danny-knobler/22535388/orioles-prospect-dylan-bundy-likely-needs-tommy-john-surgery Major blow to the Orioles pitching staff--and will make it difficult for the O's to add help at the deadline, as both Gausman and Bundy have low value right now.
  17. Plus a .300+ hitter like Reyes is more valuable than a .200 bench player. If Kawasaki could play 2B regularly, then it'd be a different story. Expect him to play that position in Buffalo.
  18. Likely he'll be getting reps at 2B in Buffalo to be prepared for a role as a utility player if/when he is called back up again. No way the Jays can risk losing games with him learning in the majors with Boni improving defensively at 2B(too bad his bat isn't there) and Izturis/DeRosa able to play 2B as well.
  19. Besides, he would've been optioned anyway--Lawrie's due back within a week or two.
  20. Not a surprise. Reyes is a better option than Kawasaki, especially considering his average, speed and stolen bases. I mean, Reyes will be playing every day--Kawasaki is better off getting ABs in Buffalo.
  21. At least we have Roberto Hernandez to face tomorrow--he has been consistently awful this season. Let's hope we get the good Dickey tomorrow.
  22. Man, we need Reyes back now.. Hey, at least we're not getting blown out--the awful Angels are shellacking the Tigers 14-5!
