  1. Ryan already commented and it sounds like Sano to the OF. lmao Teams should be calling about Oswaldo Arcia. And to a lesser extent, Kanny Vargas.
  2. There have also been failures, you just don't think of them. This guy had 161 K's in 140 games in Japan.
  3. more like Poohead
  4. They treat weed like steroids or cocaine in the minor leagues, but nobody on the MLB 40 man roster can be suspended for pot. The hypocrisy is amazing.

Calling him passive is better than calling him lazy. Pretty blatant racism by ECJF. Black man does not succeed - must be lazy!
  6. No, Castro failed a physical and lost a tentative deal with the Phillies while Cruz was moving to the Blue Jays. That's why Toronto was able to get him so cheap (Castro wanted 180k, Toronto did their own physical and still wanted him but only offered 43k). Basically Cruz wanted Castro while he worked for the Mets, but sat on it because he knew he was switching jobs. I think.
  7. What are your "filters?" The f***ing A's traded Donaldson with four years of control left, coming off of like a 7 win season. Teams trade young, good, controllable players quite often. They don't particularly like to because they recognize the value of them - which is also precisely why Pillar would have good trade value. You're falling into a bit of a WAR trap though, to be honest. War is a descriptive, not a predictive, statistic. Kevin Pillar isn't a 4.3 win player. 9. Could be a pretty big loss. You never really know though. I expect we'll see a bunch of names slowly leave, guys that AA brought in. Castro, the flame-thrower who pushes the gun at 100 m.p.h., was locked in by Ismael Cruz. GM Alex Anthopoulos got an eye-opening look at the spindly six-foot-five right-hander last year when he played at Class-A Vancouver, and initially thought the radar gun was stuck because it kept flashing 98 miles per hour on his fastball. At the time Anthopoulos joked to Cruz: “You just paid your salary for the next 10 years because that’s a great sign.” Last week, Anthopoulos amended it that to “the next 20 years”. For some reason, Castro doesn’t want to divulge details of how he caught Cruz’s eye, playing in a Dominican baseball program. “He used to be with the Mets. When he went to Toronto, that’s when he signed me up.” Read between the lines: Cruz hid Castro, his tiffany prospect, until he could deliver the kid to Toronto. ... When Jays scout Ismael Cruz discovered him in the Dominican Republic, Castro was had for only $43,000 (U.S.).
  10. Looks like an Aoki clone Both 5'9, left handed corner outfielders. .329/.402/.454 .323/.398/.462 This guy is two years younger than Aoki was when he came over though.
  11. Quentin has a .361 wOBA in his career, you dimwit. He was a top ~5 offensive player in the AL at one point. I'm sorry for making you feel dumb re: Alvarez. In the future, try to be less dumb though.
  12. You would have to assume that he'll only come back if he is healthy, or can get healthy. Obviously you wouldn't rely on him to throw 200 innings anymore. Maybe he makes 20 starts and is more of a swing man by the end of the year.
  13. Love Quentin. Guy was an offensive monster. I think he can probably still hit.
  14. Damn, it would be nice to have Buehrle back on a reasonable 1 year salary. Please come back, Mark! The team needs you!
  15. He hasn't been in his career. I guess you could make the argument that he projects better, for some reason. I mean he's obviously better than Howard going forward.
  16. no, previous tweet
  17. Morneau is the best target, for sure. Low cost and short term, still decent upside, tons of experience, an impeccable human, endlessly handsome, a marketing dream, gives Pompey Martin and Saunders someone else who speaks their language, and it would be reasonable to platoon him with Colabello.
  18. He might be better than Smoak as a platoon option with Colabello, but I certainly wouldn't hit him in the middle of the order. Maybe 6th
  19. J.P. Breen ‏@JP_Breen #PSA: "You're going to think the vast majority of free-agent contracts are too high this winter, and you're basing that off past markets." Baseball Prospectus guy obviously quoting someone he knows in the industry. Hmmm.
  20. As a baseball fan, fingers crossed for Byung-Ho Coors. CarGo-Arenado-Dickerson-Park --> fireworks Reyes and Blackmon could steal 30 each, all four of those ^ dudes could hit 30+ each, and the Rockies would probably still lose 90 games.
  21. It's possible to be balls deep in baseball "analytics" and still be a stupid person. Just look at this very message board, and how often a saber poster like BTS says something dumb cuz Fangraphs.
  22. I believe the statement was - "well those 2 moves [Tulo and Price] helped make Rogers an extra $100-150 Million in revenue." Completely different argument.
  23. Yeah staying local is worth a lot more $$ than 5,000, probably. Also bugs r kewl
