  1. This explains why you're a terrible moderator!
  2. How do I make a poll? I can see the "create poll" box under post new thread, but there's nowhere to enter the options.

  4. I can only think of one confirmed female and one confirmed gay. But other people are saying there are at least three confirmed females. We also have one Mexican (Angrioter), one geezer (Hurl), one Asian (Boxy), and one Aspergers (Grant). Pretty sad forum for diversity. I bet 98% of this board is white males below 40. Raise your hand if you're not a straight white male under 40.
  5. You. You literally just provided a list of "moves" that AA made which could have improved chemistry, after I said/implied that his major acquisitions (Martin and Donaldson) were huge talent additions and to attribute the team's success in a large degree to chemistry is stupid.
  6. No, but you obviously do so you are clearly #blessed.
  7. Trading Valencia and Reyes helped clubhouse chemistry? lol, ok. "Giving Goins the rope he deserved"... did AA take a bat to Travis' shoulder during nap time? If we're talking about team chemistry, Colabello, Smoak, and Estrada are probably the three regulars who influenced it the least. Pretty quiet and boring guys. NOT REALLY SURE WHAT YOUR POINT WAS BRO

  9. Both of them have TJS in their history, FWIW.
  10. AA probably has Puig blacklisted though, lol.
  11. Still fun to think about a potential JD package, since he'd be one of the most valuable commodities in baseball and if he was put on the block he'd be the most valuable available commodity in baseball. Dodgers - would shift Turner to 2B to accommodate Donaldson Huge chips to pick from: Puig, Seager, Pederson, De Leon, Urias I wonder if Toronto could get multiple of them ^ for Donaldson? And then guys like Grant Holmes, Kiki Hernandez, Alex Guerrero, Jose Peraza, Yimi Garcia, Chris Hatcher, Austin Barnes could be in the mix too.
  12. Playing for the tie, Revere might actually have been the optimal guy for Toronto to have up in that spot. His contact% was the best on the team and all they needed was almost any ball in play, so long as it wasn't a pop up or a sharp grounder right at someone.
  13. How the f*** does the original Show Me Your Genitals only have 32k views!!!!????!!!????
  14. Yeah they probably just figured he could start and hold the fort down for ~20 games or so when inevitably called upon.
  15. Justin Morneau 2016!!!
  16. On the contrary, he could have just been fapping over the 80 grades he was seeing put on Estrada's changeup. If someone tells you a SP has a 50 FB, 80 CH, fringe-average CU, and plus command, generally that = a quality SP. He'd also had some success in the past. So it could have been a thoroughly scouting based acquisition, for all we know. He did say publicly that getting Smoak was pretty much all on the analytics guys.
  17. No wonder Rogers wanted to bring him in! Cheap bassturds!
  18. That's one way to look at it, but for Bautista to see it like that would be pretty one-sided and self centred. The Blue Jays committed and guaranteed $65 million to him after one miracle season. They showed a large amount of faith in him as a player and a person, and to his credit he rewarded them by being everything they could have hoped he would be for the duration of that deal. Bautista's last contract should be viewed as extremely positive, in a reciprocal sense. Both parties should feel the love... ... I hope
  19. I think there's a reasonable chance that AA can get Edwin and Jose negotiating at the same time, play that off of the other player, and end up getting team friendly extensions if they both sign. Both players probably love Toronto and the team is in such a good state right now. I really don't think it's necessary to let one walk, unless one of them is intent on testing free agency (Bautista might be). A couple of years from now Jose could play an adequate 1B and EE would DH. Not a huge deal. I think Bautista is all about respect. Does he find respect in dollars, or in legacy? If legacy = respect then he'll accept a sweetheart deal to retire a Blue Jay.
  20. Clearly what you're missing here is that Colby Rasmus' sour dog personality is the specific reason that his K% ballooned to 33% in 2014 and his value plummeted off a cliff. If Colby had a better attitude, this never would have happened! Also, think about how much a gloomy gus like that would drag down the production of his teammates.
  21. lol, he's not, and he never was. More accurately, the tension for him has been scouting based player evaluation vs. analytics based player evaluation.
  22. Yes, because Russell Martin and Josh Donaldson weren't massive production upgrades. Just good clubhouse guys, for the most part.
  23. No, this type of situation happens all of the time, in most employment contexts. It's really not a big deal. Everybody involved will want him to stay, it's just matter of agreeing on the dollar figure and term. I actually am finding all of the discussion and articles about his status to be pretty hilarious.
  24. The Kemp trade was a franchise saving maneuver. Imagine the Wells trade for Toronto, but if Toronto had have kept Napoli. And then imagine that Napoli at the time was a 26 year old two-way player with four years of control left. And then also imagine that Toronto somehow got two mediocre pitching prospects thrown in, for shits and giggles. Most lopsided trade of the millennium? Kemp will make $21M per year through 2019 and he will probably be a replacement level player for most of that time. Grandal might be a top 5 catcher in baseball.
  25. Anthopoulos is super active, so he's bound to make lots of good and bad trades. He's also super aggressive, so some of those deals are bound to look positively lopsided, in either context or hindsight. If he's not the type of GM to f*** up every once in a while like he did in the Dickey trade, then he's also not going to be the type of GM to somehow land Donaldson.
