  1. Very remote possibilities. None of them are likely to be good enough to warrant a QO when they are free agents.
  2. Happ might still be a fair market deal come spring. Lots of people were floored when he got 36M, but at this point it looks like that was just the first domino to fall in a crazy FA market surge. The Estrada deal looks pretty nice though. He probably would have easily gotten a 3rd year on the market.
  3. I'm not convinced that they even need to add a big name pitcher. They already have an absolute Ace, some really good mid rotation guys, depth, and high upside rookies.
  4. Apparently it's 5/$90 The Fangraphs crowd projected 4/$64 MLBTR thought 5/$80

  6. Samardzija to SF makes him a firm #2. Since I started drinking coffee regularly, I don't think I've ever had a firm #2.
  7. REPORTEDLY THE GIANTS HAVE SIGNED FREE AGENT STARTING PITCHER JEFF SMARDZ TO A FIVE YEAR DEAL pending a physical
  8. what about denim underpants
  9. I was a professional mantis for 16 weeks, and let me tell you, when the female mating partner consumes your head after delivery of the spermatophore, it takes a toll on your body. I found the physical strain to be tremendous. That's why I turn to Weber Naturals glucosamine chondroitin.
  10. You probably had a mantis named Joe
  11. for the lore
  12. really you should never ask anyone for advice on jeans it's not that hard
  13. I've never watched Nicolino pitch, but it must be exceedingly weird. Nicolino in Miami might be the most TTO averse pitcher of our generation. If you set the min IP to 70 and look at every pitcher in the last 25 years, only one guy has a lower TTO/9 (add up BB/9, K/9, and HR/9) than Nicolino. Nicolino's is 6.20.... Bob Tewksbury. 31.3 career fWAR. 6.09 TTO/9. No relation to Bobby Tewksbary, Donaldson's hitting coach guy.
  14. Wow, DeSclafani had 3.2 fWAR last year... that hurts. I knew he was productive but didn't realize he was that good.
  15. I think he'll just have 2B/OF. Of course, he has a realistic chance of gaining CF/3B/1B/SS in any given season, depending on where he signs and who gets hurt on that team.
  16. I'm in a tradey mood again. If anyone has 2B needs, I could move Walker or Zobrist for fair value.
  17. In terms of comparing Happ and Estrada's contracts to the market, we saw a bit of the low end of the SP market today too with Pelfrey getting 2/$16. The remaining SP to watch are: Kazmir (obviously better than Happ/Estrada so should get more) Iwakuma (obviously better) Kennedy (slightly better or the same) Latos (slightly worse than both?) Fister (worse)
  18. Rumours are that Loria hates Ozuna and he will be traded this offseason
  19. Especially those poor minor leaguers...
  20. Overarching Mandate - leave Stanton alone Assignment #1 - unlock that Yelich power
  21. Revenues have reportedly increased a lot more than player salaries in the last couple of decades.
  22. They also lose pick #13, which has substantial value (over $15M).
  23. Rough value ^^^
