  1. Try to be more realistic. Revere for one of Delgado/RDR would be good for Toronto. Arizona still might not do it for payroll reasons though. They also might not even think they need an outfielder because Yasmany Tomas exists. Sure he's garbage but what do they know?
  2. Everything rides on 2016 it's his one shot, to seize everything he ever wanted mom's spaghetti
  3. hell no glass cannon classic intrepid Z arm action
  4. there are probably both scouts and analysts in that organization in tears right now
  5. So he didn't improve, he just changed. ok whatever you're obtuse
  6. I think they probably just don't have a good understanding of what his value is. Moncada got $63M on the open market and he was basically a talent equivalent for a #1 draft pick. That should say a lot.
  7. Of course. I was actually thinking the same thing a few minutes ago.
  8. Dave Cameron actually kind of nails it: Might even be worse though
  9. Did they actually sign Leake too? That seems like overkill
  10. Why do you think I didn't notice that he added two fastball variants? It had no noticeable affect on his xFIP or SIERA and his xFIP- was actually worse than average. So now you tell me how he "improved".
  11. It's not my fault that Fangraphs has all of the relevant information. You want peripherals like HR%, K%, GB%, BB%? Fangraphs. You want non-skill indicators like BABIP, LOB%, HR/FB%? Fangraphs. You want FIP, xFIP, SIERA, xFIP-? Fangraphs. You want pitch types and other pitchFX information? Fangraphs. You want projections? Fangraphs. I think the better question is... what f*** are you looking at that isn't on Fangraphs in some way?
  12. Yup, call their agents right meow
  13. Zobrist back with Joe Maddon. This probably means SS and CF eligibility in Yahoo by the All Star break, right?
  14. Wait, we can actually play baseball? That's allowed?
  15. *upload
  16. Castro is pretty bad. I'd enjoy seeing the Yankees acquire him.
  17. Kind of related - Stroman will be a super two player specifically because he was used in relief for a couple of useless weeks in May 2014. I'm sure the new regime will be a lot more concerned about service time manipulation in general.
  18. Of course he has more trade value. Nobody would disagree. Probably only if they flip Miller this offseason. Otherwise, they could have gotten better long term assets a year ago.
  19. Not really. It's just hard to see why Shelby Miller should be expected to continue to outperform his mediocre peripherals. I see nothing unique or potentially unique in his skillset. Maybe something's there, but there's no reason to assume there is. The fact that he used to be a top prospect has literally zero bearing on his ERA-DIPS differential. Sure he could improve, but anybody could improve...
  20. Sure, but he sucked at it. He would churn through a bunch of backend guys and never really give them a chance. Ex., Jeffress became a stud like as soon as Toronto got rid of him. Same with Chavez. There are other names littered in the recent bullpen history of the Jays that should have been given more of a chance. Coello, Colt Hynes, Dyson, Wagner, maybe Rasmussen The only buy-low or bounce back RP type that I can think of that worked out in AA's entire tenure is Hendricks... maybe Delabar was a buy-low? More of a fair deal. He bought on guys with Saves experience like Hawkins, CoCo, Francisco, Santos, Lyon. He overpaid for guys with good scouting grades, like Esmil Rogers and Brad Lincoln. He brought SP prospects up from A ball out of desperation to fill bullpen needs. I really don't think AA was too good at playing the reliever game. Smart teams like Tampa turn free again bargains into shut down relievers on the regular, man. Like, yearly.
  21. Perfect! I love this front office
  22. WHAT HAPPENED TO BoB!? He's a clown now. (that was last year, obvs)
  23. ok so apparently Bob Nightengale is a joke now
