    There are so many pen arms in baseball that any team could reasonably go after. It's the most common commodity out there. Numerous closers, middle relievers, LOOGYs, and minor league sleepers could be had. I don't think it's necessary though. Certainly not this early.

    I don't understand why this is weird with Smoak on 2nd. With most baserunners there's no point, but you almost have to start him for him to score on most singles.

    Compare Tampa Bay's bench to Toronto's: Brandon Guyer - destroys lefties and plays all 3 OF spots Steve Pearce - destroys lefties and can play OF corners and 1B, also 2B in a pinch Tim Beckham - athletic young SS viable product of the system Hank Conger - can do stuff Guyer, Beckham, and Pearce all complement someone else in the lineup as a platoon option. Josh Thole - can't do stuff Darwin Barney - the only one I see value in; good IF defender and you need one Justin Smoak - he can pick it! and switch hits! Ezequil Carrera - can't do anything

    Pompey got pulled from the Buffalo game tonight after 2 AB. Time to give him LF, DH Saunders, and give Smoak a solid month. Jays OF defense is pretty bad looking so far. Bautista can't throw anymore (post surgery noodle) and Saunders isn't quick anymore.
