  1. "Am a playoff team" = never made the playoffs
  2. Top end seems thinner than usual but it's not drastically different. Last year's draft flattened off after pick 6. 2014 and 2013 don't look amazing throughout the top - elite names are kind of randomly dispersed in the first round or two. I guess my point is that the top end of the 2015 draft was special. I don't think this one is much different than the two drafts before 2015.
  3. Well we let playoff finishes dictate the bottom 8 picks. SVG won't get it done when it matters this year.
  4. I just looked up some reports. He actually sounds good. I'm expecting Ace version of Marco Estrada with more fastball, in Marlins Park.
  5. Literally just did this and decided to take Chris Paddack, small sample size be damned. I see KK on the spreadsheet and he is up.
  6. I'm here! Give me ten minutes to sort the entire minor leagues by wRC+ and K-BB%
  7. 1 Hail To The Victor Victor Robles OF WAS 2 Jean Segura-lites Cody Reed SP ARZ 3 Bye Week 4 Jean Segura-lites 5 Bye Week 6 Jean Segura-lites 7 Sammy's Sluts 8 Georgia Peach 9 Georgia Peach 10 Taijuan On!
  8. Hmmm I'll give you my Round 2 waiver for them
  9. Oh I'll take those in the trade if you don't mind. Might be upgrades for me, slightly?
  10. Cut Rookie Davis, William McKinney, and Harold Ramirez. Trea Turner extremely likely to be on the move before midnight. Dangle your big fish if you haven't already...
  11. Picks don't disappear until the deadline tonight
  12. A Rod or Jepsen for pick upgrade? Anyone?
  13. Sammy is cutting Chi Chi and Funkhouser
  14. The farm system is so depleted at the upper levels that they kind of need to draft a lot of boring college dudes anyway... like it or not.
  15. f***, I guess I need to change my sig now
  16. Anecdotes are useless in this conversation and you should know it. Nobody in our leagues would have drafted an 18th rounder in 2010, just like nobody in the DDL drafted Tanner Houck in 2014. Being said, I find it easy to believe that Bryant, if he signed out of HS, would/could have debuted at 20 or 21, a la Correa, Fernandez, Lindor, etc etc etc.
  17. Signing with an MLB team is objectively better for a player's development than not signing. I think it's common sense and requires no proof. Rather, the onus of proof would be on the person asserting that not signing has no impact on development. I don't think aggregate data on development times is available anywhere.
  18. He's like a taller Drew Storen. It's mostly about the breaking ball, I think (double plus?). But one of the Youtube videos has him up to 96 and there might be a sliver of projection left in his body too.

  20. Jackson has been bad this year and has had major BB issues in the SEC. 99 walks in 156 career innings. Not that it matters much. I'm sure most of what you really care about with a college reliever would be velocity, spin rate, whiff rate. You can teach a guy to throw more strikes.
  21. And unsigned HS guys have to wait three years to be drafted again, so by your own math... Not to mention, sometimes the reasons a guy doesn't sign are medical or mental
