His ROS projections are rapidly ascending though. Up around .350 wOBA right now. He's hitting the ball really hard - some portion of the BABIP is not luck.
Michael Saunders has the 6th highest wOBA in baseball, lmao.
The Blue Jays are doing a great job keeping him healthy so far but it kind of feels like an egg race.
TT had an extensive minor league sample of being kind of a hacker. I think the power is undeniable but we need a few hundred more PA to figure out how the hit tool plays.
He could hit max ceiling as a RHB version of Curtis Granderson, or something like that. He could also be nothing more than some platoon guy like Ryan Raburn.
The sprinkle of speed actually helps his profile a lot though.

It's funny that Gray and Stroman are both in the shitter at the same time because I always thought of them as talent comps.
Maybe Sonny Gray is intentionally trying to be worse, like Stroman. Part of some master plan...
Him being an RP might be the best role for fantasy purposes anyway. I wouldn't hate it, necessarily. Making a pick or two that will probably resolve itself before the next draft is nice.
Fun fact - apparently Schultz is just about the fastest worker in baseball. His "pace" is like 9 seconds between pitches. Watching minor league highlights, he sometimes starts his motion before the batter is even ready.

Stat-scouting hard. Seems like these two guys have been written off as future RPs.

Like most Cards prospects, Harrison Bader looks annoyingly good.
But like most Cards prospects these days, him grabbing a starting role at any point will be a bit of a crap shoot. Just so much competition in that organization to have to surpass.
Just ask Tommy Pham - 1.5 WAR in only 50 games last year, and this year he doesn't even get a chance. In almost every other organization he would have been anointed... as something in 2016.
I feel pretty even about it. I needed something else on offense anyway and it made sense for my team and timeline - with Villar fully entrenched as a first division SS now and Reyes maybe coming back soon I could afford to trade the SS depth.
I shopped Turner and Manaea and other pieces aggressively for a big bat and Puig was basically as "big" as it got. It was Puig or JUpton - pick your poison. The price tags on Braun and Cespedes were higher and I got dead air on most other inquiries. I was motivated to do a trade before the cutdown, for obvious reasons. I think KK made the smart choice in not promoting Turner. Prospects need to force their way up in this league IMO.
Hopefully Yazl Pweeg can get healthy..
The draft is roaring along, and with all of the close proximity picks for people remaining, we should be done extremely quickly this year.
DDL looking good, as always.
