  1. Every team these days needs some portion of cost controlled talent (first 6 years of control). The amount needed depends on payroll! Toronto is in a decent spot right now with some D&D and therefore cost controlled dudes: Aaron, Marcus, Roberto, Devon, Kevin... a couple more would be nice. It helps that they are all actual DUDES though; stars and borderline stars.
  2. Holy f*** if an undefeated season ended by you getting cut in half Final Destination style... I don't even know.
  3. Decent chance he would accept a QO I think, a la Rasmus
  4. Vlad rocking a .197 ISO with just a 12.5% K rate. Youngest hitter in the league. 4th most BB in the league. 6th most dingers. Third in total bases. Yes, I cherry picked those stats. But still! As good as anyone could have hoped so far.
  5. In Harris' last 22 and 1/3 innings he only has 13 strikeouts, to 4 BB. Are the results starting to match the skill level or is it some ER luck? Strikeouts and walks carry more predictive weight in a small sample than hits or ER. This is a fact. His peripherals this year are mediocre at best, and downright bad in A+. And to be clear I am not offering an opinion on him here. I actually agree that you need to scout his s*** to form one and I haven't read enough on him this year or seen him at all.
  6. Our trade deadline has always been the last possible date. I'm not sure where the confusion comes from. Why would anything earlier even make sense or be preferable?
  7. Whatever it says in the settings. I made it the latest possible date, which I think makes sense.
  8. Activity. Your 72 roster moves are by far the most in the league. As a result, your team is more bad than terrible. You actually have a good rotation in addition to Betts.
  9. Maybe he will trade training for data crunching services Make me throw 90 and I'll regress anything you want Kyle
  10. I kind of like this. Estrada could use a turn or two where he gets extra rest. Liriano could use as many changes of pace as possible. Sanchez and Stroman both could use some extra rest, I bet. Mostly I like this because with the nature of pitching, six man rotations are destined to not last anyway. This is probably a 6-12 game thing and nothing more. Then reevaluate.
  11. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/instagraphs/scouting-the-prospects-in-the-francisco-liriano-trade/
  12. 45/40 ed: there are conflicting reports on his speed. I'm seeing older reports that have him with plus speed. Possible he has gotten slower. also possible ppl are just scouting SB or SB% stats who knows
  13. He's not out of shape, he just (supposedly) has the body and athleticism of someone in their mid 30s. Stocky, not quick.
  14. Pic four years old but seems like a basic circle http://beyond-bs.blogspot.ca/2012/01/2012-top-prospects-29-danny-barnes.html
  15. Dinger's naivety on full display. Stay in the OT subforum, bro.
  16. Looks like the Fisher Cats won the MLB trade deadline
  17. A ran a simple regression and there was nothing statistically significant
  18. - pitches - innings - games - the time between those events - regularity - mechanics - game stress - genetics - pitch type - resume / track record / experience - age - weather? - randomness - height - weight - gender - sexual orientation - political leanings All of these things influence injury risk...
  19. I think you can justify bringing Dickey back as long as he or Liriano are willing to accept a swingman role, if needed. The innings insurance Dickey provides is very nice.
  20. Sanchez Stroman Estrada Happ Liriano Bolsy BIAGINI! Greene SRF (will start in AA) Yup, needs some AAA pickups. All of the SP in the upper minors are just org guys (Gabryjewski, Dawson, Cole, etc.)
  21. Stroman threw 166 in 2014, including the minors. Sanchez' 139 this year is already a career high. He is also coming directly off a conversion from relief. And he has worse mechanics, by far. Even with moving to the pen he might end up around what, 170? At least they aren't planning on simply shutting him down.
  22. Dick Urena promoted to NEW HAMPSHA. AA is a huge test. The three biggest tests for pro players: 1. Pro ball, whatever the debut level 2. AA 3. MLB
  23. He's making at least one more start. They haven't said if it will be his last for sure. Seems like it though.
  24. I don't "pound" anybody because I respect women!
  25. You two are unbelievably ignorant. Clearly this farm is in the 12-16 range.
