  1. Canada is a country full of cottages, campsites, and commutes. Even in 2020+ so many baseball fans have times when they want to follow a game but all they have access to is radio. Anyone who says this is just part of the changing media landscape is out of touch. For years I could pull up the MLB at bat app on my phone and listen to the ballgame radio feed while I was outside or on the treadmill. Rogers' cheap radio decision will ruin my smartphone app experience! This is just a horrible decision, plain and simple, and I hope they reverse course at least before 2022.
  2. Alright, post a link then
  3. I think I saw that the NBA has to intervene in a plan like this before. Baseball is THE radio sport. This is a travesty.
  4. Sounds like it's for the whole season
  5. Are those slashes supposed to be plusses? So Franco + Julio Rodriguez + Groshans + Gilbert? Seems like a lot but I guess it's fair. Prospects like Groshans and Gilbert really shrink into nothing in comparison to an asset like Tatis. Franco + J.Rod is a huge package but we have seen several slam dunk #1 super prospects flop or fizzle in recent years. Tatis is not Mike Trout though so there is still a lot of risk in doing that deal. There is a realistic chance that Franco is better than Tatis in two years.
  6. I think it depends on the specific part of the facility. Weight room, hydrotherapy rooms, training rooms, classroom, discipline rooms, etc: I see no reason that the organization would not open those up completely to the minor leaguers when the MLB team is not also there. It would be a terrible waste of resources not to. 2,700 square foot Major league clubhouse: that one will probably be MLB players only, year round. MLB dining facility: This exists because the MLB players expect to eat a heck of a lot better than the minor league players. It might just get repurposed into a second general cafeteria when the full MLB team is not there. Like, the team chefs may travel back to Toronto with the team anyway? Barber shop: who knows, maybe that's a little MLB player perk
  7. WTF? that is horseshit. Who the f*** wants to listen to audio from a TV broadcast on the radio? It's not the same thing. I feel sorry for Ben Wagner.
  8. Tommy Pannone is gone so we needed another Tommy at some point.
  9. Cuba is a weird place for pitching. You'll notice that everybody there has a crummy K/BB. It's kind of like MLB way back in the day. The hitters play like batting average is king. I think it's tough to get strikeouts unless you do so wayyy out of the zone. There are hitters there who strikeouts like, five times all season.
  10. If there are clear mistakes in the pick order go ahead and fix them. I don't think anyone really cares about fourth round picks in this draft anyways. Draft picks under Other, turn commissioner mode on
  11. I dunno. Probably not. Gallen's fantasy upside is a big driver there.
  12. You obviously don't believe this if you are shopping him for an injury prone slugger leaving their physical prime soon.
  13. Greene should probably be the 2nd piece.
  14. Depending on roster constraints I'd probably do that trade, taking the Gallen package and Lynch.
  15. Yes Also, you have commissioner privileges FYI. Like, 11 of us do.
  16. It's just sound physics. Skinnier players hit more flyballs. That's why you never hear someone say "lazy flyball"
  17. Royce Lewis tore his ACL. Brutal. The 2017 draft is not looking that hot.
  18. Noda is still a bit interesting because the exit velocities are apparently high. So it's elite walks and good power. Strikeouts and age make him a likely bust, but still, tacking him on to Kendall Williams makes the trade spoo00oo00oOoooky especially when it's the Dodgers selecting those two prospects. Stripling needs to produce.
  19. If you have to ask then you don't deserve an answer
  20. Shi Davidi @ShiDavidi The #BlueJays are adding right-hander Hobie Harris, selected from the #Yankees in triple-A phase of 2019 Rule 5 draft, to big-league camp, per source. Interesting power arm. Fangraphs: Harris is a late-bloomer who only first touched 90 mph while in junior college, and at best sat 90-94 while he was later at Pitt. His velo didn’t really pop until later in pro ball, and Harris sat 92-96 in 2019. The Yankees have been pretty good at developing pitchers for a while, so they lose several of them every year during the Rule 5 draft. Harris was a 2019 minor league phase pick by Toronto. His delivery has changed a bit and he showed up at instructs with a different one, one that better utilizes his lower half. He’s now parked at 96-98 and has been up to 101 out of the bullpen. Harris will still need to find a secondary pitch and his splitter, which he first learned as he entered pro ball, might also blossom late as he’s only recently begun to use it against both-handed hitters rather than try to get righties to swing over his curve. He’s got a shot to earn a bullpen spot at some point in 2021 if he can throw enough strikes in the minors. (Fall Instructional League)
  21. Adam Duvall available for a 2022 pick or a pick upgrade in this draft on any of my first three picks. 16 dingers in 209 PA last year, starting job, he will cruise past 40 home runs in 2021.
