  1. It doesn't have to be a catastrophic drop in perception but look: The Mets were comfortable letting SWR go and Martin was passed over in a somewhat surprising fashion by like three MLB teams in the draft. All it takes is for the general consensus on them to be down, from the GMs that are selling right now. Maybe that means Martin is more of a 50-100 level guy and SWR is a backend top 100 guy. Martin is hitting for ZERO power and SWR is walking a ton of guys without a fantastic FB; those are some pretty big concerns.
  2. Again, obviously the Blue Jays don't really think Martin and SWR are both top 50 prospects. They probably have some doubts after watching them all year.
  3. Apologetics time. Martin and SWR are both putting up bad numbers relative to their prospect status. The assumption we might have to make is that Toronto thinks they aren't as good as the public industry has them ranked. Maybe Martin's statcast type data is ugly.
  4. Hahaha uhhhh I guess Austin Martin could be mediocre but shouldn't he alone be enough for Berrios?
  5. They have done the worst possible think at most crucial points in time for years now. How to sewer your franchise 101.
  6. Perhaps Aldo Ramirez is legit and the public prospecting industry just doesn't completely recognize it yet
  7. Ridiculously good vs his signing bonus but he probably needs to continue to add velocity to profile as a possibly decent MLB SP
  8. Schwarber >> Rizzo and the Yankees paid way more for Rizzo

    Oops
  10. I googled Ryan Kalish to see how long ago his rookie season was and it blew my mind too
  11. We stole him from the Red Sox forum way back. RyanKalishFan was the first name lmao

Is this actually a reach or did people just get too obsessed with the idea of there being a clear top 4?
  13. That's a huge get for Rizzo. Like, potentially a massive overpay. You love to see it
  14. The thing about Rizzo is he might not even be a league average 1B anymore.
  15. Getting a really solid SP controllable through at least next season just makes so much sense.
  16. I didn't say it was a bad trade, I said it was annoying to lose Riley Adams like this. Of course you're s***ing on Riley Adams. Two big fat shits in a row in this thread. You've taken a s*** 526 words, or half of a grade 9 essay long, to this point. You are taking the worst possible stance on both his skill set and his value. Most of the stuff you are saying about Adams could have been said about Yan Gomes back when he was a 25 year old mediocre catching prospect traded for Esmil f***ing Rogers.
  17. Just refuse to transfer Dinger's team and he can't leave.
  18. Literally, I am just regurgitating Fangraphs information. There's no need to just s*** all over a 40FV prospect because your favourite team traded him. Backup catchers with power but questionable hit tools are like, classic baseball archetypes. They have existed forever, will exist forever, and will get work forever. Some hit just enough to carve out long careers, most don't, obviously.
  19. Catching can get pretty thin around the league. Adams is flawed but he's still a ~40FV prospect with good minor league numbers, raw power, other tools. He projects as a good hitting backup who can hold his own behind the plate. It's not unreasonable to expect him to have trade value. His place on Toronto's depth chart is mostly irrelevant for his trade value.
  20. Hudson is having an elite year and making less money. Nats probably asking for a lot better return.
  21. Never, lol. Shut up about it.
  22. A necessary trade Hand should help and has some upside. Looks like his velo is actually UP this year... It's annoying that they could have just claimed or signed Hand but those are past misses and you can't let them cloud present decisions Adams had no place on the team going forward other than as a sometimes backup catcher BUT his minor league numbers and skill set had some appeal so to see him traded for 1/3 of a season of a rental reliever making market rate money and having a so-so year is a bit disappointing. You would have liked to see Toronto maximize his trade value somehow but evidently the league does not value him much. Oh well. Good to be buying. More please.
