  1. Sure but it's understandable that his diet / habits / weight would regress a little bit. Changing habits like that is hard and most of the time it's not actually a cold turkey or switch flip thing. I think most people that make big changes that stick probably go through a series of little regressions but they are able to dig in and get back on track. You know, you see lots of people flip a switch and get in shape over a series of months but a good number of them just slowly gain the weight back over time. This offseason will be the big test. Does he bear down again and come into camp in even better shape, or does he rest on his good season and come in + lbs?
  2. Mate, your last two posts in this thread have more words in them than every other post in the last three pages, combined. You are the one with a fixation. Move on. Rowdy is gone. You don't need to justify the trade to yourself anymore. David Ortiz references don't help at all, by the way, lmao.
  3. Yeah he's interesting. Had massive numbers as a senior after struggling in previous college playing time. Maybe one of those sneaky senior picks who despite bad numbers would have been selected in 2020 on tools alone, if that draft was of normal length.
  4. Because they have six starters and don't want to demote one to the pen, I guess
  5. also they are so smarmy about that lucky season with a bunch of slapdick hitters and relievers
  6. I think the correct answer is the Royals.
  7. thanks for the analysis, willy
  8. Beating the Sox helps with the WC chase but the Division will be about thumping the Rays.
  9. Austin Martin only gets an HM SWR not mentioned hmmmmm
  10. poll is missing one AL team
  11. admin is the only one who could make a change like that but he hasn't been around so I doubt he actually changed something. maybe the spaghetti code got slurped up by a hacker advertiser
  12. "SquadUp" --> literally can't figure out what team this is without googling it. horrible tag marketing. all of those hashtags suck ass though
  13. IIRC he tried to play for del Licey this winter. I remember reading a tweet that he was signed by them. But it looks like he never got into a game. Probably sucked in camp or got hurt right away?
  14. Interesting. It looks like a spin rate decline happened in the middle of this year, but his current rates aren't much different from 2020. Although if you look at the lower end of his current spin rates they are lower than 2020, particularly if you ignore the first couple of games in 2020.
  15. His injuries have been too persistent/serious. Can't even get on the mount in the last few years.
  16. Yeah maybe he's fine. His overall numbers are still good, just not as dominant as 2020. Maybe 2020 was a bit lucky.
  17. Is that true? His spin rate on the season isn't down vs 2020.
  18. I guess with the slider being bad guys can just sit fastball, and adjust to murder cement mixer sliders if they see them?
  19. He looks much worse this year. Very inconsistent with the breaker and his fastball seems a bit weaker
  20. I don't mind this at all. They should be using Romano a lot and it was the heart of the order. Nothing wrong with aggressively trying to lock in wins.
  21. I still have a decent farm somehow, lol
  22. Rush the man. Rush him.
  23. I mean that's kind of what happens when a 40 year old returns to the mound somewhat abruptly after two years off
