The Mariners look like geniuses for the deadline deals that got them roasted. Since the deadline: Graveman: 0.2 fWAR Chargois: -0.2 fWAR Montero: 0.1 fWAR Toro: 0.7 fWAR Anderson: 0.7 fWAR Smith: 0.5 fWAR Castillo: -0.2 fWAR It's like two whole wins, right there. I know they gave up a couple of prospects too but remember they got absolutely eviscerated by the media and their fans for trading Graveman.

I didn't have a problem with his personal anecdote on its own but he used it to support a political opinion. His post did not cause the ban - his vulgar response to the post getting deleted caused his ban. This thread is a good education tool for the rules around here. Buck Martinez not getting vaccinated and it interfering with his ability to do his job is fair game because it is baseball + politics intertwined. It's still a topic about the Blue Jays / baseball. For the record: Jonn's post was too political so it was deleted but that's not why he was banned.

It's probably a team or MLB requirement. They can't force every player to get vaccinated because of the union but network employees like Buck have no such power and he is subject to the policies of Rogers etc.

There are a hundred little things you could point at. What if Biggio was even remotely useful? What if Brad Hand is remotely useful after being acquired? What if ONE OF Phelps, Yates, Merryweather, or Pearson did not get hurt? What if they came back to the Rogers Centre like two series earlier?

Current Standings: NYY: +2 BOS: (2nd spot) SEA: -0.5 TOR: -1 Expected results going forward: NYY: 2-3 [92 wins] --> we would expect them to lose once to Toronto and twice to TB BOS: 3-2 [91 wins] --> decent chance to go 4-1 but you would never expect that even against bad competition. Odds would say 3-2 more likely. TOR: 3-2 [90 wins] --> expect them to lose one to NYY and one to BAL SEA: 2-2 [90 wins] If Toronto can go 4-1 then I like their odds to end up tied with either NYY or BOS for the second spot.

No wiggle room now. The "must win games" thing is no longer hyperbole. Losing either of the next two games would probably be it.
