  1. They are 23rd in run scored... this was supposed to be one of the most fearsome offenses in baseball, if not the best lineup in the AL.
  2. Tim Anderson is such a stud who wants to give me a big sexy package for him or Jeremy Pena? Also a stud.
  3. yeah probably still whiffing too much though
  4. Espinal - overperforming by a lot, skill change Jansen - overperforming but hasn't been healthy Springer - performing as projected Vlad - underperforming a bit Kirk - underperforming a bit Bo - massively underperforming and it's not bad luck Teoscar - underperforming massively Chapman - underperforming massively Gurriel - underperforming massively Tapia - underperforming massively Biggio - underperformed massively
  5. I mean Vlad is only mildly underperforming expectations, he's the one I am not worried about whatsoever. But the rest of these clowns.... woof.
  6. What do you guys sincerely think is wrong with the Blue Jays? The vast majority of the offense is underperforming projections. Some of them, by a wide margin. Is it something in the collective approach? Bo Bichette is, for example, not only a hacker but he hits a lot of opposite field fly balls - probably a bad idea with the deadened ball. Alejandro Kirk, same type of flyball patterns and he's not the type of guy to hit opposite field homers with a dead ball. Vlad - lots of oppo flyballs. Teoscar, same thing? Why don't these f***ers just yank dingers the old fashioned way like Danny Jansen?
  7. It might be.... but if we are counting guys in the MLB right now then hard to let someone leapfrog Witt and J-Rod based on just MiLB numbers
  8. not this time, Otis sometimes people are just bags of s***
  9. Fun on the internet? No.
  10. or just never sign him, save the trouble and the wasted roster spot
  11. I'm sure he can also be had FOR FREE when you drop him
  12. When the target is a truly elite talent, the peripheral pieces in a deal have reduced perceived value. The above offer would essentially be interpreted as Moreno + change for Soto. So it would be rejected swiftly. Biggio - little value. Gurriel - little value. Pearson - little value. Tiedemann - intriguing but still not huge value. The Nats would rightfully ask for Bichette + Moreno + Martinez. Something like that. Maybe with a couple other fluff pieces thrown in.
  13. I am going to assume Fangraphs twitter's response to this will just be "smh they need to pay minor leaguers more"
  14. Stolen bases are almost entirely off the pitchers these days If catcher stats look different a lot of that is just their pitchers being worse at holding runners
  15. team SB allowed or SP time to home
  16. Jano should be hitting cleanup though
  17. Jays win 4-2 in a butt clencher
  18. It's mostly the 4 seamer that is getting rocked. Maybe he is tipping pitches???????
  19. So he is trying to throw more 4 seamers than 2 seamers this season. Maybe that has him a bit uncomfortable. The 2 seamer is such a crutch pitch for some of these guys like him and Stroman who came up being told day in and day out that you needed to keep the ball down, and groundballs are an amazing result, etc. Here is the only thing I can find - the movement profile on his breaking ball seems a bit different. Curveball has always had vertical movement of -4.6 inches or more (vs average) but this year is is -3.2. And on Pitch Info shown in Fangraphs it's even being classified as a slider! for the first time!!! But the whiff rates on ALL OF HIS PITCHES are down.... So the best guess really does just remain that his command is off and he's not missing bats because of that. But the other possibilities are he is trying to throw more 4 seamers and it is f***ing him up. Or his curveball movement is a bit different and it's not working.
  20. he was pretty good but it's a s***** offense, and he got saved from a potential blowup inning with a 1 out, bases loaded double play the K numbers remained underwhelming.
  21. Did I say that you meathead?
