    that's why I picked him! Soto is about the same as peak Hafner in terms of offensive talent and defensive uselessness.

    lmao, the Fangraphs headline on the Kelenic trade is pretty aggressive Mariners Attach Kelenic to Salary Dump. May God Have Mercy on Their Souls Faceplanting into a water feature would’ve been a more productive use of Jerry Dipoto’s Sunday evening than what he actually got up to.

    yeah it might be 13/450 the new trend is these 13 year deals, just take the same total $$$ and pay it over 13 instead of 10 years

    nobody was "making fun" of him his ATL track record speaks for itself I simply said his recent series of moves were kind of nuts. Not that the moves themselves were bad, in context, but his handling of multiple assets leading up to being forced to make these moves was questionable. Then jaysblue did his usual ******** and accused me of having a personal vendetta against AA! wow!

    Very similar prospect flops, Kelenic and Snider Kelenic still has a chance of course but his "mean projection" rest of career probably looks close to Snider's career. i.e. one or two more useful seasons but just a platoon corner OF who stops getting work by 30.

    Can't see the Braves even giving White MLB playing time unless they suffer multiple injuries. Worst case scenario for Kelenic is replacement level or worse.

    I don't really think Kelenic is worth $31M Probably a decent move by the Ms to be honest. If they end up bringing in offense. Braves need to fix Kelenic to profit which is entirely possible

    That's not a counter argument Every team does it AA just did it spectacularly and at volume

    I don't know why this is hard for you to understand AA rode 3/4 assets all the way to the point where they were worth nothing, and then had to dump them for nothing. All of them were actual assets at some point in recent history, some as recently as pre 2023. Just bad internal evaluations and bad asset management. Very clear.

    It's just total asset mismanagement leading up to the roster crunch and trade He could have dealt Shewmake alone one year ago for this much value. Or Soroka. Or Shuster.

    That whole trade was honestly f***ing insane and people don't talk about it enough. Lopez - yeah projections are for 1 WAR and he is a 1 WAR player but he is literally 3 years removed from a 6 WAR season and he's only going to make $4M Soroka - was an ace in 2019 then we all know what happened. But was only going to make like $4M. Kind of dominated AAA in 2023... Shuster - 2020 first rounder, I believe he was their #1 org prospect at some point recently Shewmake - 2019 first rounder, weak numbers, bit of a Groshans thing Gowens - good numbers, apparently has a good FB all for Aaron Bummer. It could blow up so bad for AA, in so many ways.

    Think about it though. Shiny new stadium interior will be completely done next year, it has been a multi-year process. Toronto the ultimate international city. Uncle Tetsu's is here. The Blue Jays core has been treading water, struggling to get to that "next level" of playoff success or division winning. Corporate owner that is uniquely positioned to squeeze all the juice out of Ohtani. Looking less and less likely that Bo will extend here, or that Vlad will even be worth an extension, so the 2025 on payroll is more open. Short term, one of the biggest issues was LHB thump in the lineup... Toronto should probably be blowing LAD out of the water to make this happen
