    The Red Sox were NOT rebuilding on purpose. They signed Turner, Yoshida, Jansen, Duvall, Paxton, Chris Martin, Kluber. They previously brought in Story. They just sucked. They ended up looking like a rebuilding team at the end of the year though.

    IIRC there were changes done to the WAR calculation that completely rekt Doumit's numbers, post-career. Like he went from a slightly above replacement level catcher to the worst catcher ever and worst framer in history.

    We don't really know if Shapiro thinks his job is even in trouble. The corporate overlords may not care whether or not the team can ever get over the hump. Consistent wild card "contention" is kind of good enough for TV ratings!

    Nobody said this. You are a horrible, horrible poster. You consistently get into personal conflicts with people because you suck at writing, you can't make a brief argument, and you misrepresent others all the time. Nobody said the Jays have a "secret". It's not a secret at all. It's very obvious what their strategy has been, and it worked. That's not shocking nor is it luck.

    Tiedemann had his second AFL start and is killing it. Top pitcher in the league so far. Total stats: 10 IP, 13 Ks, 4 BBs, 1 HR. 2.70 ERA, 0.90 WHIP.

    It is reflective of talent only because none of the Blue Jays teams have been good enough to win the division and get into the larger sample size series. They were mediocre enough to have to try and win these coinflip games.
