    Not winners The worst kind of losing is of course losing when you should have done better. Losing in the playoffs consistently. Having resources and not making the playoffs. Making asinine decisions. Basically, the current New York Mets vibes... that was the Red Sox for much of their existence.

    The Red Sox were also the BIGGEST LOSER IN SPORTS for freaking decades As has been demonstrated, it is hilarious to hold them up on a pedestal as having same kind of winning heritage. Yes, they were a great organization for 12 years or so. Nobody can take that away from them.

Last season was a massive step, and I believe that Ed Rogers is in it to win it, but we are still not quite there. " It seems like you have just proven the point that the modern Red Sox are AT BEST no better than Toronto when it comes to "winning culture" superlative ********

    Accolades from before the World Wars don't count or are irrelevant Boston flirted with a winning culture for 15 years or so but they lost the thread around the time they traded Mookie Betts

    The rough start combined with the Yankees looking very good means the division repeat hopes are nearly dead. But you only need to look at the current WC standings to understand that the season is a loooooooooooong way from lost. The nice thing for Toronto is that the American League as a whole is PATHETIC this year, so far. What is going on? The only good teams on paper are NYY and TBR and the latter is a fraud, and closer to a .500 team by true talent.

    Yup. Elbow inflammation, he threw at the start of the year then got hurt and threw a bit at the end of the year. Reading between all the lines, my guess is that there was no structural problem and they were just being very safe with him.

    This was the pitch, Context: Sweeper is Taylor Rogers' best pitch. So you swung at a pitcher's pitch, on the first pitch, and hit a pop fly. It was the second time Heineman saw Rogers in this outing. The Twins really stretched Rogers out as the Jays didn't make him work. Rarely do you get to see a reliever twice in one game; this probably played into why Heineman was even allowed to hit in that situation and Schneider's frustrations. The first PA was 3 pitches. So Heineman gave this soft-tosser 2 outs on 4 pitches. But yeah, Lenyn Sosa swung at two sweepers that inning that could have hit him if he didn't foul them off. So part of this is also the fact that Heineman has one of the worst xwOBA's in baseball. Just complete offensive incompetence. But he's a backup catcher... I think something had to have been said. "Why did you swing at that?" "Piss off, John"

    Rays are 21-12 4th best record in baseball 8th best run differential BUT 25th in hitter fWAR, with a 96 wRC+ and negative DEF and BsR 13th in pitcher fWAR, 4.19 FIP against 3.78 ERA WAY over their skis and getting lucky, Toronto better than them at everything So I am looking forward to getting swept
