  1. Unironically, Garcia and Espinal are both worth as much or more than Eloy It is just a question of whether or not Eloy is even worth his guaranteed $16M, basically I think the trade would be more like Otto Lopez for Eloy But if you can get a DH from the FA pile for closer to $10M, might not be any point
  2. Yeah it seems optimistic. On the other side, he remains young and his injuries have all been random, unconnected things.
  3. Eloy Jimenez 2024 - $13.83M 2025 - $16.5M Team Option, $3M Buyout 2026 - $18.5M Team Option, $3M Buyout White Sox apparently getting no trade interest. sucked in 2023, has been a good hitter at times but can't stay healthy but the upside is obvious, and there is also contract upside because if he breaks out the team controls him he has a 2 WAR Streamer projection! That is actually better than all the FA options. kind of worth considering, eh? throw CHW some B prospect for him rather than commit $40M to Jorge Soler? Basically the same player?????

5th year in a row haha
  5. Sir, people are talking about dumping serviceable players like Espinal and Garcia because they make $2.5M and $6M.
  6. Who said the team has money problems, anyway? They spent a ton of money last year. The team does not appear to care much about the puny little luxury tax surcharges and they aren't particularly close to the bracket where picks start to be pushed back. There is a poster here making a big deal about the tax thresholds but I don't think they matter that much to Toronto tbh. Current estimated luxury tax payroll per Fangraphs is $238,518,453 (this includes arb estimates) $257M is when the tax increases a bit more (doesn't matter if they roll over this) $277M is I think when picks are negatively affected, that is the line they won't likely roll over. But they aren't close to it. The $257M is a soft as f*** line in the sand. They can go over it by a few million without it hurting much. I would say the team "could use" 2 bats but they are only in "desperate need" of one. The only negative impact of going over the lower luxury tax thresholds, other than money, is that the comp pick for Chapman is two rounds worse. It would be before the 3rd if they did not spend into the tax but I think it's two rounds later now. Oh well.
  7. Cuz I want to draft What difference does it make, bike?
  8. Made league, 9 in so far so it's definitely running but more people would be better Reply if you want in or DM me
  9. That's not bad. I'd have to do more research but wouldn't Montgomery be a top 5 pick in a FYPD if eligible?
  10. Everybody would want him John Brebbia just got that much money and he's half as good Jays could move Yimi or Richards or Biggio or Espinal in five seconds if they wanted but why the f*** would they do it right now? They could do it after they sign somebody big. Lmao
  11. K rate tells you a lot - Richards is so close to being awesome. Feel like his ERA has been a bit unlucky last two years. But he does lose command sometimes and gets pounded His versatility has lots of value, swing and miss plays in late innings or with men on and he can give you some length so he's a decent swing man or opener. But I wonder if the inconsistent role has made it harder for him to, you know, be consistent.
  12. https://www.fantrax.com/newui/fantasy/joinLeague.go?leagueId=mb52855plrmv405n Invite link for that draft n hold league Details subject to change, particularly roster size based on how many people join. Draft in next few weeks. Slow draft with 60 to 90 minute windows (queue necessary) 5x5 scoring, classic roto Weekly lineups for the first time!!!! No adds, drops or trades. Just draft a huge organization of like 36 dudes or more, then set your best weekly lineup every Sunday or Monday. That's it.
  13. Nobody knows He's either becomes a dynasty cornerstone this year or this is your last chance to sell
  14. Definitely free
  15. Robert Stephenson contract kinda wild isn't it?
  16. I like you, Sprinkles
  17. Annual tradition, going to make a new draft n hold league so I can do a draft. I'm thinking this year... - Draft and Hold with no adds, drops, or trades - Roto - basic 5x5 stats - weekly lineups! - deep rosters but fairly standard active lineup size So it's draft and hold but you need to make a weekly lineup setting decision every Sunday or Monday Like the post if you would join Maybe a slow draft?
  18. No, we spit them out as projections because they are projections Reasonable disagreements with projections are allowed, depending on the logic
  19. League average power, plus speed, plus defense I wouldn't normally advocate trading someone with "four years of control" for a rental but having seen Manoah pitch last year and having assessed his attitude and girth and the way his general stupid face looks, I have made this choice
  20. Ha-Seong Kim is coming off back to back 5+ bWAR seasons, 4 fWAR seasons, and fills an immediate need on the infield. That's not some wild dump of Manoah for a jobber with no upside. Toronto probably has, at this point, some offseason insight into what Manoah is doing and how his still is looking or developing in the lab so they have more information than us to inform a trade, anyway. If his s*** looks to be recovering, then keep him. If it looks as flat as 2023, then there isn't much reasonable hope of upside is there? Sometimes the right move is to dump a loser. A s*** stock that has lost 80% of its value can always lose another 80% of its value.

  22. Not sure teams look so much at WAR when it comes to elite closers It becomes more about leveraged value and possible playoff impact
  23. Well, at least it will be a good DH + this Cuban wildcard rather than just a DH
  24. But Kim doesn't take any playing time from Schneider IMO, as DS is a 2B/LF. Kim slides in at 3B and is the upgrade on IKF. IKF bumps Espinal into absolute trade bait and maybe turns him into a B prospect or something.
