  1. Do you even watch baseball? There is no way that Alejandro Kirk can play shortstop.
  2. Actually now that I think of it an Arraez trade would be weird but that bad at all As long as the Jays give up almost nothing
  3. FG Depth Charts projections. Hilarious. 36 Gabriel Moreno ARI 130 514 11 61 59 6 9.6% 16.3% .139 .323 .283 .356 .422 .341 117 -1.7 8.9 12.8 4.0 37 Alejandro Kirk TOR 110 436 11 49 48 1 9.9% 12.5% .141 .290 .271 .349 .412 .334 120 -3.4 6.6 7.5 4.0
  4. Yes it's possible TBR gets little upside on it. Kim could come back, struggle for a month, then be his normal self for the second half, opting out after proving he is healthy and setting himself up for a better deal.
  5. insane bargain for TBR sigh Jays or Mets will end up paying Alonso twice that AAV for the same WAR
  6. Get Scherzerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr please
  7. Arraez is a 2 win player with a $14M AAV. He would be the DH. I think I would rather just sign a $5M 1 WAR player off the FA pile and then pay for a solid RP upgrade with the rest of that money. Could probably get something like: ONE OF Brendan Rodgers / JDM / Turner / Kike / Pham / Moncada, Canha, France, Rowdy, Rizzo etc. etc. + ONE OF Robertson, Jansen, Kimbrel, Ottavino, Finnegan, Coulombe, Barlow, Kelly, Robertson, Chafin, Jackson, Kahnle, Beeks etc. etc.
  8. I mean this is the team that signed a catcher to a five year deal and then said he was no longer their catcher in year 1 they can't be trusted easy to be committed to youth on paper in the offseason. wait until Jordan Walker is playing minus minus defense in the OF and then some white guy with strong side platoon skills comes along
  9. I wouldn't call it a rebuild. More of a "reduce payroll this year" mode. They still have Gray, Fedde, Mikolas, Matz, Helsley, Arenado, Contreras if they were doing a hard rebuild more of those guys would be gone. They are at least trying to fake being competitive or they want a 4% chance of making the WC for some reason.
  10. I think this is right. Not on the 40 until they select his contract to MLB (if ever). But it's not uncommon for there to be deadlines or release clauses for guys like this. In his case, he might want to be on the 40 man roster by X date or else they have to cut him loose.
  11. Reds - Austin Hays - $5M Seems cheap!
  12. He can only be a peaks and valleys player with his skillset. I don't have much more to say other than, hopefully he can just be more like his career line or his projections in 2025. A .211/.311/.402 hitter with average LF/2B defense can carve out an okay little career... although LF/2B types who hit like that tend to be left handed hitters or be able to cover CF, if they stick around. tbh Toronto might already have better options on the depth chart for his bench spot.
  13. but why?
  14. It's just weird to me that you guys can watch Ernie Clement be decent in 2024... and watch Yoan Moncada suck for three years... and see that Clement is younger and projects better... and still want to sign Moncada and give him Clement's job? There is no statistical or logical argument for it. Just wishcasting for 24 or 26 year old Moncada.
  15. I mean there's Kim, and Flaherty, but I am guessing you mean we whiff on them too. Honestly it doesn't make sense to sign anybody if Alonso/Bregman/Flaherty/Kim/Scherzer/Pivetta are not options. The incumbents mash together to project for league average-ish production at the weak spots. You could sign like, James McCann and JDM but what does that really accomplish? Anything? I would just dump money into the best RPs left. Get Kenley and Estevez or whoever. Maybe Kyle Hart too?

  17. It's all so tiring Just finish the Alonso deal then sneak sign Flaherty
  18. Bregman for 5 years over Alonso for 3 However, Alonso might have no choice but to choose Toronto whereas Bregman for a reasonable five year deal can probably pick one of four or five teams and it won't be torana
  19. Depends on how many IL spots you have. The dude's other four OF all rank higher in redraft right now
  20. Time to dump Trout, maybe
  21. Agreed He's delusional Santander was realistic and smart What was in store for all of these guys was shown clearly last off-season
  22. I've been interested in Ryan Jennings for a year now. I think he has a chance. It's more of a SP profile though. Maybe he gets a chance in the pen and then it he is okay, some day a chance to stretch out?
