  1. Most of this doesn't actually matter though 5-6 years in the league, you are who you are WAR is all that really matters. And broad comparables based on age, position, body type and so forth. Devers ticks most of the boxes as a comp. Vlad has the edge in: max power, contact ability Devers has the edge in: positional utility, batted ball tendencies
  2. Yeah on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being Devers and 10 being Soto Vlad is a 1 He's not worth more than Devers for any objective reason He might get more than Devers just because of big contract inflation, or his agent doing a better job, or the Blue Jays bending over or some combination of those things
  3. 1.4 WAR in year one then 15 WAR over the next 3 years
  4. depends on the joke
  5. You just KNOW - we all KNOW - that no matter what Vlad extends for, he is going to post a 60% GB rate and 1.4 WAR in year one of the deal.
  6. I don't think MLB front offices will have trouble identifying the gap between those two players
  7. Jordan should pitch better if he wants to feel good
  8. If Shapiro, Atkins, Schneider, and Mattingly and Walker all stay and they just fire lower level staff... it's such a LAME look. Like, the front office still has all these Executives and Directors who at this point are maybe returning? You would assume they would be because if the heads or secondary heads were getting chopped off they would have started there. Tony Lacava: Senior Vice President, Player Personnel Andrew Tinnish: Vice President, International Scouting & Baseball Operations James Click: Vice President, Baseball Strategy Joe Sheehan: Assistant General Manager Michael Murov: Assistant General Manager Sanjay Choudhury: Director, Baseball Research Jeremy Reesor: Director, Baseball Operations Jeff Ware's title was "Assistant Pitching Coach - Bullpen" Gil Kim is about as significant as the bullpen catcher.
  9. What is this supposed to even mean lol
  10. Mets lineup still decent Just Lindor and Vientos and JDM sitting, for core bats
  11. good luck, Grant Holmes and Alex Anthopoulos
  12. There is some element of luck involved but they targeted durable veterans who stayed healthy so it was intentional luck as the old goalies say, you make your own luck *taps post*
  13. Oh no, Chris Sale is injured? This is my shocked face Of course it's lucky when Chris Sale gives you 177 innings considering his last three years combined didn't total that It's hard to call Gausman/Berrios/Kikuchi/Bassitt taking the ball every day "luck" when they did it two years in a row. More than two years for most of them.
  14. Imagine being a Dbacks fan? 89 wins and your season comes down to... watching Joey Lucchesi for the Mets face off against Grant Holmes for the Barves
  15. but who are the Mets even throwing it will still be the Barves A lineup vs the Mets C lineup
  16. yes this makes more sense
  17. now the question is do they mets just punt game 2? well, play their shittiest possible team i think they should. rest the boys.
  18. I think every other arm they have is better than him. Maybe.
  19. omfg LINDOR
  20. so is he even a good reliever then?
  21. Mets mets mets
  22. Ace.
  23. Cards rebuilding Giants fired Zaidi and named Buster Posey! as new President. Blue Jays.... are having a press conference hosted by Ross lmao
  24. Arenado's contract is $32M ($5M paid by Rockies) $27M ($5M paid by Rockies) $15M So it's only $15 + $22 + $27 = $64M left to any team that trades for him. 3/$64M It's not THAT gross. His projections are okay? I'd be down for Goldschmidt on a one year deal in the Jays situation for sure. In fact, he's kind of a perfect fit. If the Jays completely whiff in free agency, I would actually consider trading nothing for Arenado. The deal remaining in 2025 and 2026 won't be that relevant for a team like Toronto anyway.
  25. Romano did have some kind of minor elbow surgery. To move a nerve or fix an impingement or something.
