  1. inb4 Tampa Bay gets him cheap
  2. Yes please. I doubt he'd take a minor league deal, but I guess it's possible. Even if he needs a big league one, I'd probably give it to him.
  3. Seems likely. Good top end and future in that SP corps, but might be thin in 2014.
  4. Arizona starters have a recent habit of popping up and then fading into the ether. Hudson - hurt Kennedy - from #2 to BP machine Collmenter - it was all smoke and mirrors anyway. Gustavo Chacin style success. Miley - still good but regressed noticeably after 2012. Corbin 2014 - who knows!!!!
  5. Boogers is a no brainer. Paxton is right out. Walker for the pitching risk/reward (take if you can absorb the risk; if you have a fairly deep team and can afford to take a 2014 chance). Corbin for the more bankable pitching contribution this year. Rendon should only really be considered if you have a hole at 2B or 3B.
  6. Zaun is a grip it and rip it type of talking suit. I tend to find his analysis to either be right on point, or catching air.
  7. Kind of lame. I guess Zaun and his right winged baseball traditionalism gets to just wash over everything by default now.
  8. I still think hell be a great IRL player, but it's not easy to hit 20+ in the Coliseum and I wouldn't be prepared to buy into the idea of all of his peripherals not regressing at least a wee bit.
  9. I hope you guys are prepared for Handsome Jake to go 20/20 in Miami.
  10. Donaldson fantasy impact guesses for 2014? I think hell just be OK. .270/.340, 15 dingers.
  11. I don't really see any issue with that.
  12. Good point. Added that notion to the article.
  13. A wild 2B upgrade appears! http://www.breakingblue.ca/2014/01/20/logan-forsythe-is-available-be-still-my-heart/
  14. Anyone else kind of like Forsythe? http://www.breakingblue.ca/2014/01/20/logan-forsythe-is-available-be-still-my-heart/
  15. I actually always seem to disagree with Sickels more than BP or BA, but I always appreciate the added information that he offers since there's rarely one answer in prospecting. BP is my go to. After that I kind of just toss everything else into the same hat.
  16. I'd probably lean towards the Longo side actually...
  17. It's not like all of these minor league games aren't on the radio...
  18. "Sort of a Cardinals style pick here" Swoon. Adds to DDL prospect spreadshit.
  19. I wrote a brief eulogy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ace posted on the Blue Jays message board, showing an interest in baseball prospects. He ended up writing for the Breaking Blue blog, and then he died. The light that burns brightly, burns half as long. But what Ace's short and pseudonymic internet life teaches us is that there is worth in living with passion, in burning the candle at both ends in order to turn more heads. In order to make an impression. How many people infrequently post on this forum, making no lasting impression at all? How many nameless, generic individuals fade in and out of this community, putting their own real world lives ahead of what's truly important? We all knew who Ace was. He was the prospect guy. He was the poster who wrote for the blog. Ace became something here. It might not seem that impressive in a different context, in fact, becoming a known name on an internet message board about a baseball team might seem rather sad. But at the end of the 8 hour work day, isn't that what we all want - to actually become something? Become anything... Ace became something here, and then he left us. He left us while he was still important. As cliche as it seems, sometimes, it can be better to burn out than to fade away... *sniffles* The impression that Ace left on this small, superfluous community was significant. He had an impact, albeit on nothing. If only we could all be so lucky... RIP Ace. You will not be forgotten for like, at least a few weeks. http://c85c7a.medialib.glogster.com/media/36/36c96decc600d60fb725c58ec57b7b2e7929cd651828233b84cb4805f30fc7f7/wilted-rose-jpg.jpg

How does Martin Erat go from a 20/30 player in f***ing Nashville to a goalless ******** in Washington? He was given a chance to play with Ovechkin a bit too, wasn't he?
  21. I thought Silvio did that?
  22. Dinger and No49, we'll be needing your e-detective badges by the end of the day. Sorry.
  23. Yeah, I wasn't even saying that with respect to fantasy baseball. WAR is essentially irrelevant for fantasy, unless you play in some kind of nuanced, nerdy league based on linear weights (I do!). But even with real life baseball, looking at projected WAR for pitchers just seems so silly some times. Like, Steamer has Kershaw, Garza, and Juan Nicasio projected for 192, 192, and 189 innings pitched, respectively. They're not even really trying to project playing time, so looking at WAR is misleading. WAR is just tacked on to the end of the statline because it's what people want to see. That doesn't mean the projections are bad or shouldn't be taken seriously. I just think they get misused.
  24. So with Coors and Wilin Rosario rolled on top, I'm guessing a 4.5+ ERA. Rosario is a s*** framer, right?
