  1. Probably signs with the Yanks before July 2nd.
  2. Freddie got fingered. Poor Fred. $135m / 8 Years (2014 - 2021) signed by Atlanta Braves on 2/5/2014 Have fun on the super awesome John Hart scorched earth tour for the next 7 years, Fred!
  3. IIRC I voted Tanaka in your poll but I didn't actually read your entire post which indicated at the end that we were considering salaries.
  4. Well I wouldn't say nothing of real value. Folty has big warts but he reminds me of Eovaldi back in 2012 when he was part of the Hanley trade and everyone just assumed he was nothing because his peripherals had never been that good.
  5. Braves offense is now so so bad Markakis Upton Freeman Johnson/Callaspo/Peterson Callaspo/Peterson/Peraza Andrelton Bethancourt Ziolo Almonte/Toscano/whatever Alberto Callaspo might be their 3rd best hitter....
  6. Because Jon Singleton is basically a replacement level player?
  7. If I had to guess, I'd say the compensation package/player will be good enough to annoy the overly-sensitive portion of the Blue Jays fan base, but still worth basically nothing. Maybe some relief prospect like Rasmussen or Stilson.
  8. Wait, didn't I trade some middling MLB pick upgrade to you in order to get Mejia? I bet you regret that one
  9. Pretty funny. Recall that Theo Epstein was worth this guy: http://www.baseball-reference.com/japan/player.cgi?id=carpen002chr And Jed Hoyer was worth exactly nothing.
  10. Love his BP swing. The way he loads is like Bautista/Donaldson. In game, much less impressive though. Much less force, flatter, more abbreviated finish... more like a choppy Rajai Davis swing.
  11. Norris Pompey Sanchez Hoffman Pentecost Osuna Travis Castro Urena I'd say 10th at best. Pretty hard for me to put a 16 year old bat-only prospect ahead of any of those names. Of course, by the time he signs, Pompey, Sanchez, Norris, and Travis all have a chance to be off the prospect list, more or less.

Youngest player in the entire league and he gets 7 shots, 2 goals, goes +4, and shows up Stamkos...
  13. 17 year olds in the American rookie leagues are relatively rare (average league age is 20). 16 year olds basically don't play affiliated ball unless it's in a foreign league like the DSL (and even then, there might be one or two).

So David Pastrnak sure looks a lot better than many players taken before him in the 2014 draft. > Draisaitl?
  15. Oh my. Those are laser beams. Much better than the other videos I saw on youtube, where his swing looked kind of rigid and he looked pretty unathletic. Also, note the Blue Jays gear... I'm guessing he's not a legitimate candidate to play 3B?
  16. Voracek is for real.
  17. Still shopping top end vets like St Louis and Streit. Have only had two inquiries so far and one of them wasn't really that serious.

    I'm not comparing the players

That's an overly pessimistic viewpoint. Didn't people say similar, hand-wavy, dismissive things about Lowry before he came to Toronto? You could just as easily say that he simply hasn't learned how to play properly yet in his ~120 or so professional games.

He can do a bit more than shoot though, physically. He can jump real high and stuff amirite

The fact that he's dumb is stopping him from reaching his potential, basically. You seem to admit that he has a lot of unrealized upside.
