    hypothetically if Vlad Jr. got, say, 10 PAs off of Tyler Heineman in a blowout, lobbing it in at 55 mph, do we think Vlad would homer even once?

    agree with most of this the offense is bottom 5 in ALL OF: stolen bases, isolated power (.ISO), and BB% the only thing they are good at as a group is making contact but that is only leading to a measly .249 BA which is good but not even great (tied for 8th out of 30 teams) their expected wOBA is actually dead last in baseball even the good position players are not that good or fundamentally flawed: Springer - ancient, and cooked Lukes - 32 year old low power low walk dude Vlad - broken Okamoto - 32% K rate Varsho - swiss cheese swing and his elite D is gone Kirk - fat and hurt Clement - D evaporated, speed is useless on offense, just a hacker up there Sanchez - idiot Gimenez - no bat, speed is gone Very real possibility they have zero 3 WAR players at the end of the year, other than the pitching side where there are of course a few actual stars and bright spots.

    It is impossible to overstate how utterly broken Guerrero Jr. is It's like he is playing with one arm AND THAT IS NOT EVEN AN EXAGGERATION. TAKE 2021 VLAD AND CUT OFF ONE OF HIS ARMS AND THIS IS PROBABLY HOW MANY HOMERS HE WOULD HAVE.

    I don't think Vlad has hit a baseball correctly all season long Even his homers have been sort of weird. Well, some of them.

    Sean Keys has two homers today, 20 on the year. He destroyed AA and is laying waste to AAA One of the best bats in all of MiLB in 2026 They can't keep him down much longer. Yeah he's a fat left handed hitter but you have to find a way to get him up here.

    Toronto ranks 26th/30 teams in IP from their SP. This number gets skewed when you use an opener, but still.

    I think they need to just cut Sanchez or trade him for a bag of balls. Barger is starting his rehab tomorrow, apparently. I see no way to get him on the roster and justify keeping Sanchez. Lukes has 0.7 WAR in 45 games and has earned a starting role in LF. Sanchez has been near replacement level. Barger is a strict upgrade on Sanchez in every facet, other than maybe contact rate but it's close. Yeah they could bench Sanch and option Schneider but c'mon man.

    I f***ing hate Jesus Sanchez and players like him Lazy f***, not running out groundballs and putting in any effort on defense, stupid plate appearances all the time, a Jazz Chisolm level sense of the strike zone, and smiling through his failures all day long. Get him out of here. Pinango has more professional at bats and a more professional demeanor, even if his defense is as bad and his sprint speed barely clears and the team loses out on raw power.

    This was a horrendous loss. It reminded me of the World Series. Atkins needs to be aggressive or creative here. Find a taker for Jesus Sanchez (ick) and go get Lane Thomas or something like that.

    The farm is healthy, vibrant, vivacious, blooming, exciting. The MLB team is the damn near opposite and SOMEHOW in a wild card spot.

    The endless search for a RHB that can platoon or pinch hit.... The team needs to insure against Schneider's journeys into purgatory. Despite massively worse projections they obviously prefer Straw as a pinch hitter in certain scenarios. To be honest, I do as well when a ball in play can score a critical run. I suppose Urias is at worst a better option than Sosa. Harry, Pinango, Schreck, Wagner. McAdoo. Jacob Sharp has a 122 wRC+ Meanwhile, the 40 FV players Toronto acquired, per Fangraphs, in other words the guys Fangraphs liked a bit more, all suck. Fangraphs blows and Ross Atkins is amazing.

    I feel good about this Luis Urias thing My tea leaves said a weak little RHB util would be the turning point of the season and I erroneously assumed it was Lenyn Sosa. Happy to have misread the leaves

Analysis The Blue Jays had been anticipating having Garcia pitch Sunday for Triple-A Buffalo, but that didn't end up happening. Per Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca, Garcia's fastball was sitting about 93 mph in his last rehab appearance, down from the 95-96 mph he typically sat before he underwent surgery in September to remove scar tissue from his elbow. The 35-year-old right-hander's return date will remain murky until he's able to get back on a mound and demonstrate he's ready to be activated from the 60-day IL.
