Carrera is a LH hitter, maybe he has better numbers against Gallardo. Plus Cola is very susceptible to hitting into a double play, and I think Revere was on first and less than 2 outs at that point. Plus it meant we could have used Cola later in the game if the opportunity came up. Gibbons knows what he's doing.

Dude, Gallardo was lucky as f***. Edwin smoked 2 balls with nothing to show for it, same with Tulo. Through the first 3 innings or so Gallardo had 0 swinging strikes. I think losing Donaldson early on in the game kind of deflated the team. We gave 2 at bats to Carrera and Pennington and that could have been the difference in the game.
