  1. How most teams win. Homeruns are #1 when it comes to scoring runs. You can hit 3 singles in a row and not score, but a homer is a guaranteed 1 run. We made it so far in the playoffs last year not because we hit a bunch of singles/doubles…. It was because Vlad/Springer/Kirk/Gimenez etc. hit a bunch of homers.
  2. Its a no brainer as in you’d have to have no brains to do that
  3. Nice win! Much-needed 7+ innings from Yesavage today.
  4. Agreed. But the front office also needs to make the tough decision and tell him to go home for the season.
  5. Yeah he’s been a disaster for them this year. Chapman looks pretty good though. I could see us taking a flyer on Ray just because we were able to turn him around before
  6. Very close to ignore listing lol. So annoying these days
  7. We already have a Luis Arraez at home (mr 500mil)
  8. Guerrero could be the worst all-star game pick since Alcides Escobar in 2015 when Royals fans went crazy with the voting For reference, Escobar had a .277/.311.362 slash line by July 1st good for 83 wRC+
  9. Good thing we have plenty of experience across the league of guys recovering from elbow surgeries... I bet he gets TJs surgery soon
  10. Mattingly was here for years with a dead offense, the Phillies thing is a coincidence
  11. hey guys does anyone else think we should sell the farm for both Witt and also Skenes?? We could use a couple good players like them. Let me know your thoughts!
  12. Yeah I agree with all this. You’re just so emotional about it day to day which is why people call you out. Hoffman isn’t someone who should be DFAd or released but he should be lower on the depth chart than guys like Varland and Rogers… which he currently is
  13. Doesn’t look so hot right now but its not over yet. Team has about 4-5 weeks to get their act together and pull above .500 before the trade deadline. Santander replaces Springer next year. Vlad needs to get his head out of his arse.
  14. Im not sure how you’re able to just ignore the discrepancy between expected stats vs real results with Hoffman? He SHOULDNT be this bad. Its a complete anomaly case here which is why he’s gotten so much rope. The front office didn’t take as long to punt a guy like Green because every metric said he was sht.
  15. Yeah the team just stopped hitting for any kind of power. Idgaf about the contact hitting narrative from last year, you win games by hitting homers. The Dodgers and Yankees aren’t winning games hitting 15 singles a night.
  16. Not really sure what happened with the defense from last year to this year but its embarrassing. Mental mistakes and sloppy play have cost us a handful of games already this year
  17. Consistent over management of the bullpen for the last several years
  18. Kirk definitely looked like his hand was bothering him there…
  19. At least the pen is pretty rested. I’m thinking Hoffman factors into the game
  20. Its baffling to me that a guy like Ernie Clement can’t lay down a bunt at will. Like thats exactly the type of skill you’d practice day in and day out as a speedy contact guy. Not excusing the stupid decision to call for a bunt but Ernie needs to be able to handle the bat there
