    I don’t necessarily care about changing free agency, but i’ve seen TONS of people online begging over the years for a shorter FA window because the offseason is too boring Sometimes these owners/players get so caught up in what THEY want, they forget the bigger picture is that the fans need to be on board.

    Spanky-esque meltdown I take it this is the first time you’ve been to a blowout game?? Haha Yeah i stopped going downtown for games this year back in like June. Could sense the vibe and just didn’t feel like wasting the time. Its much easier to swallow those types of games when you’re working downtown and hit up the dome after work

    Bit of a weird situation, the 2025 definitely didn’t warrant a contract over 300m, but then he had a monster postseason would likely would have secured him 500m even as a free agent. So, best case scenario would’ve been that we wait out the year, Vlad pops off in the playoffs like he did, and we let him walk to the Mets/Redsox for 500m. As it stands, its nice for the org to lock up a “superstar” player to play his whole career here. Debatable if he should be considered a “star” and if he will ever come close to that production again. We just need to hope this is a blip season.

    Don’t worry, he’ll have a nice 6 WAR season in 2028 when we aren’t competitive at all and finish the season 68-94

    Im not sure Vlad could even manage a hit against a position player right now. You could have Pasquantino pitch the entire game and Vlad would go 0 for 5

    So what im gathering here is that Lopez is basically a Gimenez clone on a rookie contract. Valuable player even if he only hits for 90 wRC+

    I said this the moment the contract was signed and was called a fool. Vlad just isn’t on the same level as guys like Judge/Soto/Ohtani and he never deserved to get paid over 300m
