  1. His short cup of tea in the majors was god-awful and may have hurt his trade value. Agree its probably best to roll with Espy/Smith at 3B and see how they look in spring training. I also like the idea of giving Vlad and Lourdes some reps at 3B in spring training to see how they look. Would be nice to have more positional flexibility with the 1B/DH/corner OF spots, easiest spots to sign a good LH bat
  2. Its true, he could probably play a good 3B. He never got a chance to try it, he was playing SS and 2B if I remember correctly. Had the same problems with the short throw Jose Altuve has gone through at various points. We know he has a cannon, he deserves a look at 3B
  3. Stupid take. The reality is that the WS is a possible 7 games over the span of 8 days. Most casuals won't watch more than 2-3 of the games. Changing the start time does nothing to change that. As for the length, there's really nothing they can do. Its not any different than NFL/NBA where the final 10 minutes of the game takes like an hour to finish with all the timeouts and crap.
  4. Great game so far. THIS is what the series needed
  5. Yup, look at some of the WS winners from the last decade. Miracle teams/lucky teams: 2019 Nationals 2018 Redsox 2015 Royals 2013 Redsox 2011 Cardinals
  6. Well I mean all that stuff would be nice, but most of it is unrealistic. 1. Pujols is washed up, not worth it. 2. Good chance we sign Ray, but I think Scherzer is unrealistic. He’ll stay in LA. 3. Seager won’t sign to play 3B, he’ll get plenty of offers to play shortstop. 4. Grichuk has like 0 trade value, probably better to just hold onto him as a 4th OF/injury replacement. 5. Guerrero in LF is probably a bad idea, but I think it might be worth trying him at 3rd one more time. I agree his arm is wasted but unfortunately 1B might be the only position he can play. I agree the Jays can beat the Yankees and Redsox. We were only 1 game behind them, with some better luck we would have finished ahead of both of them in the standings.
  7. And next, they’ll petition for the sport to be played with bare hands like cricket
  8. Probably a higher salary though. Depends what's more important to him
  9. Imma be honest, these past 2 nights haven’t really felt like world series baseball yet. Both games pretty lackluster so far compared to some of the previous matchups like Dodgers/Braves, Dodgers/Giants, Redsox/Rays
  10. Ugh thats a bad call IMO. Definitely should be an out
  11. Agreed with those 3, one of them could definitely be moved for pitching something. Groshans and Orelvis I think we should be keeping though, especially after trading away Martin. Unless the front office believes that they’re gonna be busts and think we should offload while their value is high.
  12. Bingo. They traded Dylan Cease and Eloy Jimenez for a couple years of Quintana who then proceeded to blow chunks. And they trade Gleyber Torres for 3 months of Aroldis Chapman (yes they won a WS I know). 200 million on Heyward was an awful move. They payed 150 million for Lester which turned out alright. 120 million to Darvish which I bet they regret. TBH the Jays are kinda heading down that same path. The Berrios trade is comparable to the Quintana trade (depending on how he pitches next year), and they gave 150 million to Springer (not sure how this contract will look by 2025). I would prefer if they didn't trade anymore high end prospects.
  13. The Rays manage to do it on a much smaller budget. They almost never trade prospects for established/bonafide major leaguers. Honestly the best thing for the franchise would probably be to trade one of Vladdy/Bo a year before free agency. Hang onto guys like Teo who broke out late and aren't highly-touted around the league. Continue trying to make some shrewd/low-risk FA signings. The WORST thing for this team IMO would be to make another Berrios-type trade and fully torpedo the farm. A single season can be derailed due to a couple key injuries, I don't like the "all-in" method unless you're trading for players with multiple years of control.
  14. There's no "window" unless you make it a "window" by trading all the upcoming prospects. Just try to field a competitive 90ish win team every year. I'd rather have a 90 win team for 10 years that sneaks into the playoffs over a 105 win juggernaut for 2-3 years. Get in the playoffs and the 90 win team is just as likely to win as the Dodgers or Rays.
  15. Damn the Astros have been pretty unlucky with these long fly balls the past couple innings - Yordan Alvarez just misses one but gets a triple still - Gurriel misses by 2 inches and gets thrown out at second - Diaz hits one foul by a couple feet
  16. This game has been boring as hell since the 4th
  17. Lol yeah what the f*** do we know
  18. He’s mainly playing catcher in the AFL i guess?
  19. He got a snapchat from Jesse Barfield that completely fixed his swing overnight
  20. Yeah I agree, not really sure why Snitker would bump Eddie down to 5th when he's been working fantastically well in the leadoff spot.
  21. Kirk with the projected 120 wRC+ is nice to see
  22. "Last week, Rogers was removed as chair of the company after details emerged about a plan he led to oust the company's CEO Joe Natale. His plan was to replace Natale with then-CFO Anthony Staffieri. Natale got word of the attempt when Staffieri reportedly butt-dialled him while discussing the plot with someone else." This can't be real lol wtf
  23. Can Acuna come back and DH in the WS?? Feels so wrong to have the Braves in the WS without Ronnie
