    For me, the Redsox are annoying because of their constant ups and downs. They go from worst in the division in 2012, to being 1st place the next year and winning the WS. You could easily say they fluked that, because the next year in 2014 they were worst in the division again. Same with 2015. They were fairly good between 2016-2018, but again they win the WS in 2018 and then miss the playoffs the next year. And then AGAIN, in 2020 they were s*** and came last place which secured them a nice draft pick. Then in 2021 they make no real improvements to the roster and they win a ton of games and make the ALCS. Luck up the ass for them this past decade.

    Oooof thats tough to go down 4-0 in the first inning at home Reminds me of the time the Royals did that to the Jays in the ALCS.... unfortunately I attended that game. Down 4-0 before you even make it to your seat is a gross feeling.

    I said he gives pedo/predator VIBES. The man is like 60 and tries to dress like a 20 something businessman. But anyways yes you're right, that isn't a fair characterization based on his looks. He still sucks as a baseball analyst.

    When did “protect the plate” turn into “swing at a clear ball if you have 2 strikes just because?” This whole thing isn’t even about protecting the plate anyways, not sure why this is being brought up. Its about an umpire getting a check swing call wrong. You could argue Flores should have either decided TO swing or decided to NOT swing instead of half swinging. But you can’t say he NEEDED to swing because he NEEDED to “protect the plate”, that’s moronic.

    Even on a borderline swing, in that situation you’d think the ump would say no and force a proper end to the AB. But that wasn’t even really close

    Yeah don't we always argue on here that the 2015 Jays were probably the best team in baseball that year and should have won? Instead they got bounced by the Royals and their SUPERSTAR leadoff hitter Alcides Escobar... and they ended up winning the WS against the Mets, arguably a better team. Bottom line is you DONT need an MVP player to make the playoffs. You DONT need a Cy young candidate. You DONT need a crazy run differential. You just need a solid team and for things to break right over the course of 162. And in the playoffs, just need a couple guys to hold a hot streak for a few weeks. (Daniel Murphy, Mookie Betts, Steve Pearce, Alcides Escobar, Madison Bumgarner, etc.)
