    Not really... I remember at the time the favored guys were Bud Black, Joe Espada, Rocko Baldeli, guys like that. Montoyo’s name came out of nowhere and then from the moment he was hired the media tried to spin the “he has lots of experience and is praised all throughout baseball” angle. Montoyo himself said he likes to manage using a combo of analytics and old school baseball. We’ve seen the team use analytics moves like the opener, only twice through the order, more platoon stuff, but clearly Montoyo is a terrible in-game manager.

    I checked their team WAR numbers and Acuna is 3rd most WAR on the team behind Morton and Freeman.... with only 80 games played. Nutty. Sucks that he can’t be a part of this run

    Im cool with it. Dodgers have seen enough success recently and f*** the AL teams. Atlanta was 2nd only behind the Jays in severely underperforming their pythag record. They’re a good team
