  1. How does he suck ass? He’s a solid stopgap option IMO with a chance to hit 40 homeruns in the AL east. Lefty bat, good D
  2. Sign Conforto and Seager and focus the rest on the bullpen.
  3. I would honestly argue we should expect the Offense/bats to be LESS healthy this year. Last year the only important guys that got injured were Springer and Biggio. There’s a very real possibility we go through a stretch in 2022 without Bo, without Spinger again, without Teo, etc. I don’t agree with your assessment on the team as a whole though. Losing Ray and Semien doesn’t automatically mean we win less games next year.
  4. When an owner won’t just sit back and let his GM work. Always gotta meddle. Arte Moreno wasted one of the greatest players of our generation Actually possibly 2
  5. Definitely feels like an alternate universe. Cherry on top would be Correa to the Tigers for 300mil
  6. Yeah pretty crazy. Gotta think its the owner calling the shots, probably doesn’t even know who Gausman and Ray are. Teams with a puppet GM always do well...
  7. Idk how important this would be in the decision-making process, but the teams in our division seem very heavy on RHB. Maybe. RHP makes more sense to invest in over a LHP. Judge, Stanton, Sanchez, Voit, Bogaerts, Martinez, Mancini, etc. IIRC Ray didn’t pitch so well against the Yankees last year, especially down the stretch
  8. Alomar/Carter trade? Same kinda thing
  9. Plus Bieber my dude, I wouldn’t do it for just Ramírez either. Anyways not gonna happen, just an idea. Everyone always talks about trading for Jose Ramirez but you need to give up good players in order to get good players. I think a Ramirez trade makes sense for the team if he’s not the only significant piece coming our way.
  10. Ah probably the opt-out that did it then. I know the Jays FO doesn’t like those opt-out deals.
  11. Maybe everyone thought he was gonna wait until after meeting with the Angels? I guess that never happened lol
  12. We’d be filling the hole at 3B with a better player than Bo. Creating a hole at SS yes, but I’d only do the deal after a Correa/Seager signing. Dealing from a position of strength with guys like Kirk and Gurriel. Guardians would want to do the deal because it would give them 3 cost-controlled above average bats that they can have in the lineup everyday. They get more payroll flexibility getting rid of Ramirez. Not sure they would want to deal Bieber, but they’d be getting Pearson as a replacement.
  13. You’d also be getting Bieber though. But yeah im not saying its an amazing plan, but I think it would be a great way to make the lineup more diverse while dealing from a position of strength and also completely solidify the pitching staff.
  14. Hypothetical trade: Jays get: 3B/INF Jose Ramirez SP Shane Bieber Guardians get: SS Bo Bichette C Alejandro Kirk OF Lourdes Gurriel Jr. P Nate Pearson plus mid level prospect Crazy trade proposal I know, but i’ve been thinking about it for a few days and it probably makes sense for both teams. Also checked trade value on that trade calculator site and the value is fairly even. Sign Corey Seager or one of the other FA Shortstops, Biggio plays 2nd. Don’t make fun of me please.
  15. Also lets talk about Scott Boras getting a tidy 30 million dollar commission over Thanksgiving weekend. God damn
  16. This deal is absolutely insane in a bad way. Cohen gonna run the Mets into the ground inside 5 years
  17. Arte had to take his annual 2 week thanksgiving vacation. Baseball can wait.... can't it? Lets meet at the winter meetings Robbie!
  18. This is honestly nuts. Ryu for 4/80 in 2019. Springer for 6/150 and Semien for 1/18 in 2020. Now TWO 100+ million contracts to 2 different starting pitchers in 2021. Unreal
  19. Im honestly disgusted by this ballot. Ryan Howard but not David Ortiz? WTF is this logic?
  20. Even if Cohen offered 5 years for 60 million, like you said Matz is under no obligation to sign with any particular team. Maybe his wife has family near St. Louis or something. Maybe he loves the food there. It doesn’t f***ing matter where he signs, its his choice.
  21. What the f*** is he on about? So just because Matz’ agent reached out to the Mets expressing interest in coming back, means they have to take whatever deal is offered? I don’t understand the problem here, other than Cohen is a twat
