    Well in the past, the players didn’t choose where they go it was just whichever team paid the highest fee in a blind bid. I think Ohtani was the first to come over in the new system where the player chooses where to go. If I had to guess, its just because LA and New York are bigger and more popular cities that are featured in many American movies/shows. Foreign countries are just more familiar with USA over Canada.

    2 scenarios: 1. The Mets get lucky and win the WS, in which case the crazy spending stops but they still have the top payroll in the league. Cohen tries to sell the Mets since he’s done playing with his shiny new toy. 2. The Mets do not win any championships because they’re a poorly built team. Cohen bitches and complains on Twitter that MLB is corrupt. Reveals the entire ball-manipulation scandal. Goes full scorched earth throwing a mega tantrum on Twitter. Says baseball is stupid anyways and he doesn’t care.
