I guess this means the Mets will sign Rodon? Dark horse candidate being the Orioles.
Have to think this insane spending stops sometime though. Teams like the Yanks/Mets/Phills etc can’t continue adding guys at 25+ million per every offseason
Its Steve Cohen, do you really think he was bluffing?
Just stick him at third base
Padres already have a SS and a 3B locked up long-term and they still went and got Bogey
Oddly this seems like a better deal than the Bogaerts and Turner contracts even though they’re shorter??
Correa seems like a guy that could still be a decent DH near his 40s
Not every team has more than 2 capable shortstops though so I’m not sure what your point is
EDIT: went back and read your original post, doesn’t seem like you’re saying it as a criticism. My bad??
Well on the bright side, Ryu might come back down the stretch and be useful. If not, he’s off the books after the season anyways. And there’s a chance Kikuchi doesn’t completely suck.
Glass half-full
Yeah he doesn’t have the track record of a guy like Bassit. Hence the opt-out after year 1. If he repeats his 2022 he’s probably looking at a deal closer to the Taillon/Walker range.
