    Who the hell is?? Its a great signing and great contract You guys just love to chime in with the YEAH BUT HE DIDNT DO THIS OR THIS Shut the f*** up for once and be happy we’re out here trying to sign top guys, and we actually got one this time on a reasonable deal.

    I just can’t see it. Varsho is a streaky player, its who he is. Some months he’ll look like a top 5 CF and some he’ll look like he’s never hit above AAA before. He’s basically lefty Grichuk with a better glove and worse bat.

    Im not so sure, there’s tons of people saying they’re hearing Alonso and Jays talk is heating up while 1 guy (who has never broken anything) is saying no. Not sure I believe Shi here.

    I would consider a 1B with a wRC+ of 120 being paid 35 mil a year an albatross contract

    Right, i think a lot of people are forgetting literal hall of fame talents like Pujols and Miggy turned into absolute albatross contracts shortly after hitting age 30. And Vlad isn’t even on their level if you look at the first handful of seasons each guy had. Vlad will almost certainly age extremely poorly starting around age 30, which means you’re getting roughly 5-7 good years of a potential 15 year deal.

    Yeah the Springer and Santander contracts are not comparable. Santander is not being paid like a superstar, totally fair deal.

    A lot of things in the world would be better with a system like this. Unfortunately, the rich only care about getting richer and the union reps are made up of some of the top paid guys in the sport. They will never settle for a system that sees the top paid guys have a cap, even if it means more for the rookies/younger guys/journeymen

    If he gets deferrals to make the luxury hit closer to 25 mil per year i’d be extremely happy. Even though I dont think signing him long-term is the right move.

    Yes, he should be playing RF with Springer switching to LF.

    He shouldn’t. Gotta be Bo/Vlad/Santander in the top 4, but we don’t exactly have a clear leadoff guy or someone else to slot in at the top. Maybe Gimenez or Wagner in the 1/2 spot possibly? Springer should probably be plugged into the 5th spot to start the year. Ideally we add 1 more bat that can slot in at the top.
