  1. AFAIK, Salazar was never discussed. Carrasco was discussed, and the asking price was Stroman +.
  2. Price pitches today, and if we win Wed he can pitch game 2 of the ALCS on four days rest. I'm with Gibby on this decision.
  3. It would be nice if Dickey stepped up, but realistically he'll be yanked immediately if he gives up a few early runs.
  4. It's not one good season. Estrada has been a very decent pitcher dating back to 2012, with 2014 being the outlier. He has earned himself a $25M+ contract.
  5. Anthopoulos has been godly at negotiating team-friendly contracts (Bautista, Edwin, Yunel, Dickey), I expect he'll probably lock Estrada up to a reasonable 2 + 1 type of deal. I also think JB and EE will re-up for 2 years this offseason.
  6. My other leagues use smack talk very sparingly.
  7. Any way I can turn these off in the Yahoo app without turning off all (useful) notifications?
  8. Do you guys ever shut the hell up? I'm getting 4 billion Yahoo notifications from this pointless smack talk.
  9. How does Bannister justify batting Andrus 5th? Mind-boggling.
  10. The Dome has problems closing below a certain temperature (around 12 c I think?) so if there's a chance they need to close it later and the temperature is in that vicinity, they will close it pre-emptively.
  11. I'm so nervous/excited my palms are sweating and I might throw up. This is the most important game of our adult lives!
  12. Second in baseball, behind Mookie Betts, and Revere is next at 8.0.
  13. Sooooo cringeworthy. The lyrics are painfully generic and the singer's voice is grating.
  14. I honestly think Carlos Correa alone could make Boxy a mid-pack team next year. Super excited to watch him turn the corner.
  15. He's man-crush-worthy, indeed.
  16. I think basically it was a young Liriano for a young LaRoche.
  17. I definitely wouldn't trade back Rodon for Bird, but then again I don't need another 1B. I thought that was a fair trade at the time and I still do, it's a classic need for need trade. Rodon had a fantastic rookie season and trimmed his BB rate to 3.7/9 after the ASB. I like Bird but there are some issues that could prevent him from being a big fantasy contributor, not the least of which is his path to playing time next year.
  18. But he also walked like twice as many.
  19. You should probably trade him to me for Rodon. It makes too much sense for a rebuilding team.
  20. Celebrating a home run = not acceptable Throwing a lethal projectile at him to retaliate = acceptable
  21. Kevin has done a lot of good things this year besides emerging as a Gold Glove caliber CF. He's reduced his K rate to an excellent 13.5% and proven himself to be an exceptional baserunner, not just in terms of SB, but with his ability to make good reads in order to take aggressive bases and make very few mistakes. He's never going to be a big power threat or an OBP beast, but he's proving to be a very valuable asset. I could see him returning 3 WAR next year, assuming there will be some defensive regression. He's the perfect complement to our stacked offence at a premium defensive position, and he's cost controllable for another 5 (4?) years. I can also confirm he's got a plus handshake.
  22. I don't think it's so much a matter of laziness as it is a matter of protecting a team from it's owner in the event that he decides to go full connorp.
