I think that's kinda BS, to be honest. The only elite chips we cashed were Norris (who doesn't look special) and Hoffman. We have plenty of young talent under team control, namely Stroman, Osuna, Sanchez, Pompey, Travis and Pillar. It's one thing to trade prospects for a current run, but it's not like we mortgaged the entire future by any means. In fact I'd argue we have more above-replacement level young talent on league min contracts than most teams, in addition to our mid-prime core. This is not a team like the Phillies, completely bereft of young, controllable talent and on the precipice of major decline and overwhelming salary commitment.
