  1. Hell, if I could get Seager and Urias, that would be pretty hard to turn down.
  2. Carrasco and Salazar combined for 7.9 WAR while Donaldson had 8.7. But why keep an elite position player when you can trade him for two starting pitchers with histories of major injuries? Any time you can trade one elite asset for two lesser, riskier assets, you do it.
  3. No hetero, but leaffie is a really good poster.
  4. There are more gays here than females. I don't even think we have one confirmed female.
  5. Ewwwwwwwwww.
  6. Wade Davis and Dellin Betances are tough on everybody. We had the best offense baseball has seen in over a decade.
  7. Then why the f*** would you write that?
  8. There's no such thing as too right-heavy. Righties hit righties, lefties don't hit lefites.
  9. Martin is a strongly analytics-based signing, IMO.
  10. Except when Estrada was acquired, it was as a long reliever. It took Stroman getting hurt and Sanchez and Norris sucking for Estrada to get his shot in the rotation, so let's not pretend AA saw this career season coming.
  11. His trades, by most accounts, are more about persistence than good relations.
  12. Really? I'd put trading and contract negotiations as his two biggest strengths.
  13. The success of that trade was predicated on the notion that Dee Gordon is not legit, a premise I still accept as probably true. I'm super annoyed he was good this year, though.
  14. All he pretty much did was trade Dee Gordon for Howie Kendrick and rape the Padres on the Kemp deal. There's nothing to suggest he's suddenly going to throw around money like a lunatic or dispose of the methodology that made him extremely successful.
  15. You all know I should have won both those bets. Epic f***jobs, both.
  16. Classic bait and switch attempt. Pass.
  17. So what's the problem with ERA? It was your initial suggestion anyway.
  18. I think I'm not going to bet you on the metric which is most favourable to Dickey and which I care the least about.
  19. I wouldn't bet on IP, but I would bet on ERA with a minimum of 150 IP.
  20. AAV is about right, although Estrada probably has the leverage to get a 3rd year at this point. Maybe a mutual option with a buyout would work.
  21. I don't think we really know enough (for certain) about Shapiro's management style to make any sweeping generalizations like this.
  22. I see them as being very equal. GD is allergic to injury-prone players though, so he was pretty adamant that we pull the trigger. I guess there's a bit of a premium on goals too, so I can understand it from that perspective.
  23. Hahah bringing our payroll to about $170M before re-signing Estrada or picking up Dickey's option.
