Agreed. If I were a middle of the road team, I'd stock up on probable cuts like Romo and Uehara and then immediately trade them once the season starts for a profit. You can get a 2nd round MiLB pick for good relievers as soon as we're past the cut date.

No, but Familia was a good holds guy with great stuff and a lot younger than Romo. I have the same problem with Koji now as you do with Romo, he'll probably end up in the waiver draft also unless he gets traded.

Jeurys Familia didn't get any return last winter, so good luck with Romo. Only competitors would want him and they all have 20+ keepers already.

Frisaro hears otherwise, but there's always the chance that something could change. Marlins president David Samson recently said that Fernandez turned down a contract extension, which is no surprise given that Scott Boras is his agent. It's worth noting that the Marlins are feuding with Boras, not only about Fernandez's innings limit for 2016, but also their handling of Marcell Ozuna. It seems likely that Fernandez will be traded at some point, even if it isn't this winter. The 23-year-old is under team control through 2018.
