  1. Pompey has some power. I could see him routinely landing between 10-15 HR per year. I remember he smoked one into the 2nd deck that really surprised me.
  2. Cheap, too. Nice get for the Ms. Hopefully this means Kimbrel is available as well.
  3. Additionally it would ensure that Osuna gets moved to the rotation, which I think we can all agree is for the best.
  4. If you trade for him now you get a comp pick too, although that just means he'll cost more. They'd probably want two good prospects.
  5. Although apparently Ken Giles is also available, and all things being equal, I'd rather get him since he's under control for years.
  6. Sadly, I would give up Pompey for a year of Chapman.
  7. I'm really kinda hoping we're in on him. I'd gladly move Sanchez+. Chapman is just so arousing to watch.
  8. Lol Betts is like a Top 15 asset in baseball.
  9. Rotoworld: Peter Gammons has heard from four different people that Aroldis Chapman will be traded by the end of the weekend.
  10. I tried that once, it's not long enough.
  11. Which is somewhat understandable if you look at the career arc of their former prospect, Elvis Andrus. If Simmons loses a step he becomes much less attractive, since he's consistently a sub-.300 wOBA bat. Conversely, his defense is better than Andrus' ever was, and his contract is a lottttttt better.
  12. I don't understand why the Braves think they would be more competitive with Harvey than Simmons, especially during the window before Harvey gets extremely expensive and leaves in FA. I think Simmons is a bit overrated, but I just don't see how that benefits their particular situation.
  13. I'm not really sure why the Braves would want to do that, to be honest.
  14. I'd classify him as a breakout, not a comeback. The same could probably be said for Rodney's season. The should have a breakout player of the year award!
  15. Lol yeah, to think people would snub historically good numbers on a player who tests clean is just idiotic. Toothless argument if I've ever seen one.
  16. Fernando Rodney basically went from being terrible to being an elite reliever overnight. I don't have a problem with the award going to s***** players who suddenly become extremely good. The point is that the award is not for players returning from suspension.
  17. That's because A-Rod will never be that good again.
  18. I think so, yes.
  19. I already made a very compelling argument, one that the voters obviously agree with: this award is not for players returning from suspension.
  20. Braves asked Harvey or deGrom for Simmons http://www.rotoworld.com/images/headshots/MLB/6780.jpg According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the Mets checked in on the availability of Andrelton Simmons on Thursday morning and were told that it would take Matt Harvey or Jacob deGrom. Yeah, so that's not happening. ESPN's Jonah Keri reported Wednesday that the Braves have engaged in trade talks involving Simmons with at least one National League West team, and Buster Olney added Thursday that the Angels are also interested. Any team with a need at shortstop will be inquiring, but it's going to take a sizable return for the Braves to give up the 26-year-old defensive maestro. He's on a relatively team-friendly contract through 2020.
  21. He played 0 games in 2014 because he was suspended for using steroids and lying about it. Coming back from that isn't something that should be rewarded or celebrated. His numbers were impressive, no one will dispute that.
  22. Coming back from a full season suspension isn't really in the spirit of the award, so I'm good with it. The award should be for players coming back from major injuries. f*** A-Rod.
  23. Meh, the only guy who maybe got shafted is A-Rod, and for obvious reasons.
  24. Ouch, Justin Turner undergoes microfracture knee surgery.
