  1. Could be medical, could be personality issues, or maybe he put a certain dollar figure out there but ended up capitulating after the fact.
  2. Thanks pal. By the way, Sixto just landed on the DL with elbow inflammation so I'm going to invoke that clause in our trade negotiations and swap him for Forrest Whitley at this time. If some commissioner could please approve and make the transfer in the Google Doc. Thx!
  3. For all the hand-wringing done on this board by the people who wanted us to draft Singer, I'm going to guess he was demanding a signing bonus around $6M (equivalent to a Top 5 pick). So if we had drafted him, we probably would have had to pony up $1.5M to $2M over our 1st round slot value, which would have really hamstrung the rest of the draft, not to mention crushed the front office's negotiating leverage (since if you draft Singer with the intention of signing him well over slot, you have nothing much to show for your draft if you can't reach a deal with him). The Royals have a signing pool of $12.7M, so they'll have plenty of money to sign Singer (even if they have to go $3M overslot) and Kowar (probably also well overslot) and a lot of their other picks, whereas the Jays only have $8M in their pool, so signing Singer could potentially have eaten 75% of their draft money. Just fireballin' tho.
  4. I would hope that signing Groshans was a fait accompli as absolutely no one expected him to get drafted where he did. In fact, he must have signed under slot, right? You'd think that the Jays had some pre-draft understanding that they would be able to sign Groshans enough underslot to also sign his teammate Kloffenstein with an over slot deal.
  5. Still Mookie Betts. Trout will out-WAR him by like 2 and out-wOBA him by 75 points, but Mookie will when when the Red Sox take the division title, his batting average is 3 points higher, and he finishes with 6 more RBI.
  6. I'm pretty sure Boxy's window is up, so I'll take Cole Winn and get this thing moving again.
  7. I’m going to bed soon. Someone wanna take my pick in case Boxy shows up?
  8. McKay seems too high, for me.
  9. Agreed, Top 4 should be Vlad, Acuna, Soto, Eloy. Putting Tatis and Senzel above Soto is mystifying.
  10. MLB Network insider Ken Rosenthal on Monday spoke to Angels general manager Billy Eppler, who said, "There have been no changes in [shohei] Ohtani's diagnosis and neither our physicians nor medical staff have recommended [Tommy John surgery] or said it's likely."
  11. Still open to trading adequate SP Junior Guerra (2.83 ERA, 3.74 FIP, 60 IP) for an upcoming pick.
  12. I was thinking of trading up to draft him, then I realized he was eligible as an MLB free agent. Sorry bud.
  13. Some picks got dissolved, notably silvergun’s.
  14. I take back all the s*** I ever talked about Brandon Crawford. Scooped him as a FA when Seager died and he has virtually saved my season with like a 200 wRC+ since that time.
  15. I would be willing to trade Marco Gonzales + Junior Guerra for an upcoming pick if my guy is still there.
  16. Yeah that’s probably not going to happen since people haven’t even been able to trade picks in the late 2nd this draft season. #64 is worthless.
  17. It is sort of funny that I traded Chris Sale and then immediately lost Syndergaard and Ohtani to the DL. Pitchers f***ing suck.
  18. I just absolutely refuse to believe that Scooter Gennett is good, though. I'm just going to ignore him until he goes away.
  19. It's actually #1 over the past 30 days in this format. 20. The downside of owning Ohtani... two DL spots!
  21. Gulp... Ohtani DLed with UCL sprain. PRP already done, definitely looking like a TJ coming soon.
