  3. Really? How is that so? Am I missing something or do the Jays lose one of Lind/Cabrera/Encarnacion cuz there are not enough spots for them to start then another of your offensive spots is filled with a pitcher?
  4. When has he repeated an action for which he has been made aware of? It's true he has a ton to learn still but I do not see him repeating errors unless you are referring to his approach at the plate. I am sure he will see how the others are adjusting at the plate and follow suit hopefully soon.
  5. True but in my opinion in his case he seems to have more to learn that the average youngster playing after his first full season. He has a lot of energy, plays a terrific defence, and his bat will come around. I will be a tad more patient with him however I will not let things slip - I will let him know when he does wrong and why it was wrong. I am not aware of any situation where he has not taken responsibility for his actions. I do not follow him on twitter so I am not aware of what he has said to come across this way. Has he?
  6. I think it was more from the stand point just to reduce the lead by 1 rather than being concerned about the RBI however he was definitely out of place to be bringing it up on the field. Anyway, Gibbons ripped him one for what he did and I am sure he will be made aware of just how wrong his action was.
  7. That would punish the whole team. He is young, still learning, and we have seen how much the defense suffers without him at 3B. I believe he was caught up in the moment and as such was not able to process the team's position at that point. He reaction was inappropriate and he most probably will see that when he reflects on it later especially after it's brought to his attention. Gibbons called him out for it and they should just more on. Every wrong should not necessarily be punished especially when there is an opportunity for the individual to learn from it. He has learned not to yell at the HP umpire, not to hit the HP umpire with equipment, and I think he has also learned not to throw any other pieces of equipment in the direction of the umpire. He still has a lot to learn so you cannot be benching him for every mistake.
  8. Looked like a good pitch - Lind wasn't able to hit it squarely so he just got underneath it a bit. Bad time for it to happen but that's just the way things have been going.
  9. Melky has "gimpy" legs, the ball was not hit that deep, and the OFer has a good hand - good call by the 3B coach.
  10. See what happens when you ask for something? He took a "single" hack. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-KSB6lZfHL0k/UX-itoraKeI/AAAAAAAALh0/to-I16Zl_84/s1600/Ricky-Gervais.gif
  11. Gibbons hand gesture at chest level insinuated he was talking about the strike zone and that's reason enough I think.
  12. I agree with your take on this play.
  13. One other note on this - Under the section "Private Messaging" ensure the "Don't save a copy of sent messages" is also selected. From what I understand there is a limit to the number of private messages you can have in your private messages box (in and sent). After reading any private messages it may be wise to delete it in case someone tries to send you 50 more - I believe that's the limit.
  14. To be alerted when anyone quotes you go to the "General" settings. You need to place check-marks on the following: In the "Private Messaging" section ensure these are selected. - Private Messaging on - Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up In the "Visitor Messaging" section ensure this is selected. - Private Message
  15. Really hard to tell however when he caught it, just before going into the stand the ball was snow-coned (trapped at the end of the glove), then he hit the ground and came up showing the ball deep in the glove.
  16. So he chased 1 pitch out of 5 and that's reason enough to come off negatively? How about being disciplined enough not to try to be the hero and swing at pitches off the plate? How about not only being a team-player but also being patient knowing if the pitcher does not throw something good to hit that the team's big bat will be up next to have a chance to drive in the run? Bautista had a great day but it would have been all for nothing if DeRosa did not get on base.
  17. But... but... but, is it really true? Are the 1ft Subways really 12" long as advertised? I think someone has to look into this claim cuz it sounds fishy.
  18. I like what Bonifacio can bring off of the bench more so if he can become better with the bunting. A part of the problem has to do with giving bench players a lot of playing time. At the start of the season it was looking like Izturis' bat would be the only really weak bat however when the Jays lost Reyes and had to replace him with Kawasaki that was a huge hit making that 2 less than ideal bats. With Lawrie also on the DL at that time that meant we had yet another non-starter playing a lot of games. With "gimpy foot" Cabrera being a liability in LF recently the Jays will be losing another potential good bat so now you have 3 offensive holes. Couple that with the others not hitting their stride and the picture becomes even worse. Depth is important and should be planned for managing situations where more than one injury occurs at the same time. I am not suggesting the FO should be paying elite players to sit on the bench just in case injuries happen however the only area which seems to be holding their own is the BP. Santos is not even being missed and when he comes back, if he can stay healthy, he should make the BP even stronger. The starting rotation looked good on the surface even though they started off too slowly they were also hit by multiple injuries (Johnson-triceps inflammation, Happ-Head contusion, Romero-Brain malfunction for want of a better description etc.) making it a depressing revolving door for starters. There is some depth (albeit they too are on the DL) which could potentially be a little better than what the Jays are currently throwing out there now. Anyway, games like this one makes it entertaining even though nail-biting at times. It would be nice to see some blow-out wins however pulling off a win makes for an ecstatic, euphoric, mind-altering moment - very satisfying and worthwhile.
  19. The two of them have made some bad plays at 2B so it is still a toss-up even through I believe Izturis will be seeing more time in the infield over Bonifacio.
  20. True. I believe it was 2 out at that time and his getting on base enabled Bautista to come to the plate for the heroic ending.
  21. Don't forget Rasmus' at bat and his hustle, the Bonifacio's bunt to move him to 2B, and Kawasaki's grounder to get him to 3B. Bautista definitely had a good day however praise must be passed around to the pitchers and defence as well (excluding that one by Izturis'). Nice win - hopefully this will boost their morale.
  22. You, and some others here, shouldn't be allowed to celebrate either - too much negativity during the game with all the "game over" crappy comments
  23. Didn't realize that link was to a proxy server. Better sounding name too.
