  1. Jays have been getting breaks lately especially tonight.
  2. I believe this link gives an idea of what is involved: http://www.playersdugout.com/functional-fitness-training.asp
  3. Jannsen is already singing praises about the program: http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20130502&content_id=46427590&notebook_id=46453694&vkey=notebook_tor&c_id=tor
  4. This is really tame compared to the previous board. I just hope people on this new board can put aside their inflated egos while responding with accurate information so new-comers can use this as an opportunity to become more baseball savvy. If something seems too silly they should try to just ignore it rather than get into pissing matches thereby hijacking threads or making the place become unbearable. Only time will tell so I am just hoping for the best.
  5. When he settles back into his patient role at the plate his presence will become even more valuable cuz he has protection behind him. Pitchers will come to him rather than try to get him to swing at anything outside the zone knowing not doing so will only lead to putting on a base-runner for Encarnacion.
  6. I also laughed when I saw Gibbons expression - Just wish I could have read lips to know what was really said. Anyway, Gibbons would not blow-up for something like that during the game however I feel certain he would certainly address a move like that some time before the next game.
  7. He had a good outing which was great to see. I think Dickey should start treating his nails with a nail hardener solution since his nails seem to be an important factor in the type of pitch he throws.
  8. It seems as if the Jays approach at the plate has changed over the last couple of games. Everyone is not trying to yank the ball over the fence and are actually going with where the pitch is being thrown - Pitches outside the plate are either being laid off (more patience) or being hit to the opposite field or up the middle. Is there a link where I can see this sort of information? Thanks.
  9. Nice outing from Dickey - He kept them in the game. IP 6.0, H 6, ER 2, BB 2, SO 10. Pitches-strikes: Dickey 115-74.
  10. DeRosa was late getting to the bag - all on him for that missed DP.
  11. It's tough luck but it is better if he takes a few additional days to clear out any lingering problem. It is really getting tiring hearing about all the injuries. It's starting to seem as if the Jays line-up will be in a perpetual merry-go-round state till the end of the season.
  12. That only pertains to other teams. You forgot we were referring to the Jays eh?
  13. I am siding with KSaw on this - He will be a starter and if he stumbles (arm issues again) that will be the end of the experiment.
  14. Janssen comes out of the pen, not only with a game plan but, with a true sense of determination to get his allotted outs. He knows his role and sets about doing it as quickly and efficiently as possible. What a great job!!!
  15. Jays got a break there cuz that looked like Lind would have been out by a long way.
  16. The Sox defence has been pretty good. Is that a big part of having Butterfield there?
  17. Love this - it captures my behaviour so well when watching some of the plays recently.
  18. If that was in response to my post I was being sarcastic.
  19. Yeahhhhhh, that's just what the Sox are doing. They are making Ortiz throw lots of itches so they can get to our decimated BP.
  20. This is truly amazing - First Jays batter in each of the first 3 innings got out on the first pitch they saw.
