  1. Anthopoulos is most probably the only one with an answer to that question however my guess would be he took a gamble based on his assessment of the situation. If the achievement highlight is to win a WS and the window of opportunity for any team to win it all is small then it is understandable why he made such a decision. If there was also added impetus from the FO that would point to another reason why he took the gamble when he did rather than continuing along the path of the previously conceived plan. In other words, small window of opportunity in the ALE (won't go into this as it has been said before) this year and next year, players involved in the moves looked great on paper, winning the WS is the crowning achievement, and any other additional unknown factors such as FO's pressure to produce.
  2. A more accurate interpretation could be "BlueJays catching prospect A.J. Jimenez appreciates the guidance given by Henry Blanco during training camp"
  3. There is never a specific answer for a hitter's woes however at this rate he will only have 122-Rs, 40-2Bs, 40-HRs, 110-RBIs, 100-BBs - Just joking, he really needs to pick it up.
  4. Maybe the link should be in red to make it more obvious. Anyway, clicking on the link says "out of town a couple days, may or may not be available"
  5. I saw the same think however I couldn't find any link where those stats would appear. fatcowxlive, can you provide the links were you got those stats from?
  6. Just curious to know what the root cause of the problem was and what action was taken to remedy it. Thanks.
  7. Janssen should have been out of the inning there with the save. Kawasaki should have realized he had time and not rush the throw. Not a very clean game by the Jays on the whole.
  8. There is a link to it in the first post which was a nice touch by the OP.
  9. I figured I knew what you meant but still went ahead and googled it. After find a rough translation I was trying one word translations before I had a typo "Hijoputa". Maybe this is what you really meant?
  10. I believe McGowan would be better than some of the guys the Jays were trotting out there however I agree with this approach. McGowan is on the mend and since they have invested so much time and energy into his come-back it would be in their interest not to rush it right now - He needs to get comfortable throwing off the mound in game situations once again so stretching him out slowly makes a lot of sense to me.
  11. Isn't that an exaggeration? Anyway, I am going through the thread while watching the game. Soooo, did I say something wrong?
  12. lol. There was no one at 2B to receive the ball if it was thrown. You shouldn't post stupid s*** like that.
  13. Well at least it appears as if they (Anthopoulos and his staff) think Arencibia has the potential to get better at "D" which is huge cuz his position is mostly about defence and game calling. I initially felt Arencibia had some room to grow with his D however I was only making an assumption since I did not have in-depth reports from those closer to him to work with. Anyway, it's their job at stake so If Arencibia cannot make gains in those areas then he is a lost cause so I guess we will see where the chips eventually fall.
  14. Thanks. I was able to pull up a link with that information - http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20121221&content_id=40774654&vkey=news_tor&c_id=tor It appears as if Anthopoulos in conjunction with his staff have seen something worthwhile there.
  15. I must have missed that - link please.
  16. At first I thought about that but the replay showed the ball was deflected off of Bautista's helmet.
  17. Thanks - I was thinking it was because of an injury. To come out of a game because of a back injury (discomfort or whatever) usually means a few days off. Sucks big time to have both Lind and Encarnacion out at the same time.
  18. Really? I thought it was because of a bad back or something like that. He should be playing against both handed throwers at this point in time.
  19. Seriously? The 4th post in the GDT and you start with this nonsense? You do need to get out of the house more often and get a life while you are at it..
  20. Do you go through life always expecting the worse scenario to come true? You really come across as someone who is really negative and not someone, as you may mistakenly believe you have a special gift, who is blessed with ESP.
  21. No, however a GDT normally suggest that comments are being made about the game in progress - Suggesting Arencibia just cost the Jays the game when other more glaring errors were made by the BP and OF hints at a dislike rather than a cause which is not based only on the game.
  22. Are you really this unknowledgeable or do you think you are being funny or are you just trolling?
  23. I know there is a group whose dislike for Arencibia is so huge it colours their perspective. If there was anyone more responsible I would say it was Rasmus for the 2 huge misplays in CF and the you could also lay blame on the BP in the 7th - walking in runs is really unacceptable.
