  1. Should be a GDT rule that when you whine about someone's ability in the thread you are automatically exempted from cheering when that individual does something positive.
  2. I was waiting to see how long it would take before someone made this comment.
  3. Don't think it has to do with luck. Navarro trying to make a double out of a single was not a good idea with Markakis in RF. That was essentially giving the Os an easy out which is not a good approach.
  4. McGowan has a lot to prove and he has nice stuff. Whether he can shine this year is another matter but I am still rooting for him.
  5. Was this the play you were referring to: Edit" Thhis was 2010/ Cant remember 2006 triple though
  6. If they are fringe BP guys then there should be no sweating if they are released, not so? Also, I really don't see Sierra's contribution to the team so I would like him sent down. Get rid of Thole and just tell Dickey he will have to settle for Kratz so the sooner he gets his head wrapped around that the sooner things will settle down. I guess from my position I really don't have to worry about the consequences of hurting anyone's ego.
  7. A similar thought crossed my mind while I was reading it. Sounded like he was playing a part to get onto the Toronto team.
  8. I missed this. Can you provide a link where Rogers made that statement? Thanks.
  9. My second response in the thread stated it was a troll attempt so I was very aware of that. This does not mean I should not comment on other aspects of his behaviour. It's one thing to say nonsense (which I did not even bother giving a relational response) and another to comment on disrespectful behaviour.
  10. Riled up? That is so off-base. I am amused at the pathetic trolling attempt while at the same time trying not to be retaliatory by using scathing, sarcastic responses.
  11. Why are you being abusive towards me? Was I disrespectful to you? Is this a mature way to carry on a discussion? Or are you trying to start a pissing-match? Your attempt to carry on a serious discussion (if that was really your intent) by starting this thread was a serious failure from my perspective. Since we will not see eye to eye on this subject I will say no more on it.
  12. The OP is just trolling.

  14. I don't spend money on things I cannot afford outright so paying it off at the end of the month is never an issue however you would be surprised at how many people fall into that credit-card trap. Other than the house and car I do without till I have the money to cover it.
  15. If you are paying off your total purchases at the end of the month then they are all really equal. My AE interest rate is 19.99% whereas my Royal Visa is 10.75% last time I checked so if you cannot pay off all of your purchases then AE is not where it is at.
  16. Thanks for the civil response. I understand what you are getting at but I think it is being used in a strictly isolated perspective. Shouldn't your strongest/best big bopper be utilized to his best advantage (having others on base when he comes up)? If you have other high OBP players who are not as effective big hitters what's the reason for not moving that person to the lead-off? Since the lineup is not filled with big hitters it doesn't make sense to just slide him out of that effective position because you are then using your best big bat in a less effective position. OBP specialist (for want of a better phrase) are not normally suited for the big hits and are less effective in making big game-changing hits, that's more in the big hitters play-room. Anyway, I understand you have a different view so I will give your article a read when it comes out to see what else of value I can pick up. Thanks. Edit: I got side-tracked before responding to all points. In my initial post I mentioned about Bautista coming up with weaker players before him every at bat after the first inning so he could very well be totally excluded from having others on base at the time of his at-bat. I also understand what you are saying about the 3 spot with 2-outs but that doesn't make sense cuz it should only happen in the 1st inning if the lead-off an second spot do not do their job in the first inning. It is hardly likely that neither of the 2 hitters before the #3 spot will not be on base after the first inning cuz that means they are not successful at what they are supposed to be achieving. Maybe I am not putting this down properly so I will leave it alone till I read your perspective on it in its entirety.
  17. Not trying to find fault with this concept but what are you really basing this evaluation on? Is he the strongest/best player based on his ability to get on base and as such will be more effective as lead-off cuz others behind him (big hitters) will have a better opportunity to drive in more runs since he all be on base? Or, is he the strongest/best player based on his ability (big hitter) to drive in more runs with others on base before his turn at the plate? If so, having the 7th, 8th, and 9th hitters (weak players who will most probably never be walked and as such most probably never be on base when its his turn at the plate) coming before him every at-bat except the 1st inning seems inefficient. Or am I over-thinking this?
  18. I am not sure if this can be changed right away but going forward this will most probably not be allowed to take place. This will certainly seen as a stalling play and at the same time a cause of longer game times. Managers should not be allowed to come on the field unless they are going to challenge the play or carry out other normal duties like substitutions, player injury/conference or something legal.
  19. Somebody please tell this to Bochy - http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/mlb/the-d-backs-scored-a-run-after-a-call-at-first-was-upheld-after-a-giants-challenge?ymd=20140401&content_id=70668478&vkey=news_mlb I agree that managers should only be allowed to come out if they are going to issue a challenge. I believe they current system will be tweaked going forward cuz this is definitely going to impact the length of games and it is not the essence of what the challenge system was supposed to be about. Currently it is equivalent to challenging every close call without the penalty factor.
  20. You can get someone to start it for you so you do not see the score first. Not sure if that's a workaround.
  21. It is - You believe you have rights but in reality you don't.
  22. Looks nice however I couldn't help noticing the Jays were not displayed. Maybe it is behind the guys who is standing there.
