  1. It didn't start off like that at first - The strike zone has leaked out a bit more now.
  2. Dickey is not pitching badly uo to now and the Jays bats should come around soon. Right now Chavez is being measured and weighed.
  3. Ump seems to have a tight zone but as long as he is consistent for both sides it should be a nice game.
  4. I was thinking along these lines as well.
  5. Thanks for that update - I missed it. Anyway, the silver lining is Gose will get more exposure at this level to hopefully show his true potential - When opportunity knocks it's really up to the individual to make the most of it. Also, having 2 MLB-ready, decent, CFers seems like a good position to be in come the trade-deadline.
  6. They were instrumental in the victory but you cannot rule out Lawrie's or Encarnacion's contribution. This was another team effort.
  7. It seems to be the mindset of some individuals here to try to pull down others based on their looks/weight etc but it must be based on jealousy. After all, these "fat/ugly" players are out-earning them and most probably getting more chicks than they can possibly get.
  8. The Jays defence is playing with a lot of intensity. Lawrie does it automatically, Encarnacion tonight, Cabrera tonight, and Bautista/Pillar both ran hard after another crucial play earlier in the game. They are playing with a lot of heart lately.
  9. Guys are not looking sharp tonight but Gibbons seems to be getting the most out of them tonight.
  10. I hope someone in the BP is already warming up even though that DP just happened.
  11. Hopefully EE's play keeps the momentum going for the Jays. Nice save.
  12. Yes, he did well for a call-up so not it's time for the BP to do their job.
  13. Hmmmmm, at this point, after this walk, I would have thought Gibbons would have called down to the BP.
  14. I agree but have someone warmed up on the BP to bring in at the first sign of a repeat of last inning.
  15. This game sure has a lot of drama so far and the good things right now is the lead belongs to the Jays.
  16. LOL. In more ways than one - Jays got a huge break there. It is especially scary to see two OFers going so hard towards each other for the ball.
  17. Nice time-out here cuz Hendriks is losing it. He needs to stop the blood flow here.
  18. Not sure what you were looking at. It was really close and failed only because the throw was accurate and the tag was perfect.
  19. I agree with this comment. Having someone new come to the board and be accused of being someone else incessantly can, and most probably, will drive them away. Everyone on the board is not on an even footing with respect to baseball knowledge so some will post what may come across as a troll-able offence. Even if it is the same person from a previous board, people can change. If not, then the Admins deal with it accordingly.
  20. I am not sure just how to respond to your comments. I am assuming you meant the GM in the first sentence because the term "manager" used without qualification almost always refers to the field manager as in Gibbons. With this in mind, there are some who will take a stand that you never trade within your division however I am not one of those. It depends on being able to get the most value out of your asset while balancing the negative aspect of having that asset in a rivals camp. By the way, who did Anthopoulos trade to a rival that lead to this WS? I don't think you could be referring to Farrell cuz he not only failed as a manager while with the Jays but he was also not a loyal person AND he did not want to be here. If you keep someone like that on a team then their performance most likely will become more of a disservice to the club while creating a lot of discord within the club. Also, the manager, by himself, does not contribute to more than a couple of wins over a season and it was not as if there were other clubs to trade him to so that point is really moot. A lot of people rag on Anthopoulos but that job is not an easy one. There are 29 other GMs all hoping to build the best team possible while dealing with multiple variables which has a direct impact on the make-up of the team. Anyone can sit back and crap all over the GM with respect to what move should have been made without having insider knowledge surrounding the possible trade elements - the fit (need/talent/health/personality of the player) for both teams, the value attached by each GM to the assets on both sides, the asking price (most probably based on talent evaluation), the resources (other players/budget) available etc. to name a few of the variables. It is not an easy task lining up those unknowns especially without knowledge of what's being offered so it is easier just to say he is not doing his job well cuz we do not like what we are currently seeing. Anyway, we do seem to have different views on this subject.
  21. Really? I must have missed that cuz I only saw a report where he was rearing to go. If the Jays roster was set-up differently then I most probably would be supportive of having him stay - any OFer sent to the DL or traded - but as it currently stands, he needs to be playing full time.
  22. I see it the same way. Gose presence brings some excitement so maybe this is why some fans would rationalize for him to stay and Pillar sent down.
