  1. Statcast's OAA aren't as high on him, but I more meant that there is always some uncertainty when a player goes from one extreme defensive rating to another.
  2. You don't think they add a FA SP?
  3. I know Semien's defensive metrics have hovered between awful earlier in his career to well above average the past two seasons which leaves some question marks as to how good of a SS he really is defensively. But you have to think he is at least a plus defensive 2B, right?
  4. Tanner Roark is 34? Jesus he looks bad for that age.
  5. This is a strange excerpt from the same article:
  6. You should ignore his 2019 season, and frankly the second half of 2018. His elbow issues were so bad he literally changed his arm angle on throws to 1B. That impacted him significantly even after TJS, I know this because I know the player. As for exit velocity he has never been someone who grades particularly well in that category, he has a career 85.9 and his xWOBA has generally hovered around .300 in every year but his career year in 2018. It hasn't stopped him from being an above average hitter by wRC+ in 3 of the last 4 years. The reason I believe in him moving forward, aside from the obvious bias is that he is healthy, and he has improved consistently on his already strong K%. The BB% will always leave something to be desired because he is an aggressive hitter philosophically, but the rest of the package combined with the defense is still very desirable IMO.
  7. There is nothing in his profile that suggests that he is the recipient of good fortune, and if you take out his injury plagued 2019 he has been an above average hitting SS 3 years in a row. He is also a beast athlete who is more conscientious with diet and exercise than anyone I know. I'd bet on him aging well.
  8. He may shift to 3B if the money and term are comparable, but I doubt any team will pay him more to be a 3B.
  9. But if she has a good personality does that mean that the player is mature beyond his years? Traditional scouting is hard.
  10. If the Mets really are out on the big FA left on the market I like the Jays chances of acquiring one of the big 4.
  11. It would be pretty funny to read the comments if that happened.
  12. I'm surprised there hasn't been any updates on Sugano today. There is a little over two hours to go until his posting period is complete. Perhaps he really is leaning towards a return to Japan.
  13. The Mets are still favourites to sign Springer. I wouldn't panic based on that tbh. There are still really good players available.
  14. The upside here is that this probably takes the Mets out of the market for Bauer and Lemahieu. I suspect they probably have the money and desire to add Springer on top of what they have done.
  15. It's being finalized now according to Passan.
  16. https://theathletic.com/2305777/2021/01/06/rosenthal-francisco-lindor-yu-darvish-blake-snell/
  17. Would Sugano hurry up and f***ing sign. My body is ready for some FA news.
  18. No offense, but this sounds like something a non married guy would say.
  19. Reports out of SD are now saying that the Padres will not move Cronenworth off of 2B to make room for Kim. So as it stands his current role will be as a utility player. This, coupled with the lower than projected salary and rumors of a demotion clause from the Jays lead me to believe that perhaps the public sphere's opinion was not in line with the industry's valuation of Kim.
  20. You realize that none of the major free agents have signed, right?
  21. Hey man, no judgement from my end. I've never had a kid, and I won't pretend to know how to raise one. Good on you if your kid loves sports, I was a sports nut at a young age myself.
  22. Now that you mention it, if you replace baseball with Islam that kind of sounds like my upbringing.
