    No. You don't know that. You think that and you have solid evidence to back that assertion up. You don't know it. You know about as much as you KNEW Yan Gomes would turn into an absolute strike out machine once pitchers decided to start throwing him breaking balls.

    I don't know about Bautista. Edwin always looked really, really good when he was on.... on absolutely lost when he was off (like it was mental). I only liked Yan Gomes because he was smashing the ball in spring training.... which can be pretty meaningless. I got the same type of excitement with Jim Negrych. But as I think about Gomes now, in hindsight. The fact that he took up the game late as a kid.... the fact that he spent most of his college and minor league career as a backup...... he was always behind in AB's... and that meant something.

    Anyone? He's looked pretty comfortable out there. A late bloomer? Maybe a Marco Scutaro type of player? I'm desperate here... give me some hope he has a decent chance to surprise.

    Guerrero has to be considered a top 10 prospect in the org IMO. The guy is 6'4", under 190.... That's a god damn stick that should fill out... and produce more as he gets older.

    I know they say you are not supposed to draft to fill positions on the big club. But I'd love to them go after the 2 best shortstop prospects they can get... maybe that Trea Turner guy and whoever else they can get at 11.

    She's going to look a lot better with the 2 early draft picks next year. I'd put Emilio Guerrero in the top 10.

    Not many teams have 5th starters that don't get rocked on occasion.

    Technically he never said he wanted Redmond as a 5th starter next year... just said he wouldn't mind if he was.... which if you have 4 other good starters (which they don't) would be ok. He'd be fine depth, good for a spot start here and there.

    I'm not talking about blaming him for it... I'm just saying he was a bad guy to lose. A catcher that can play a bit of infiled and hit a bit is pretty valuable. I was pumped whn he came up last year... But all people kept telling me was all he would do is strike out when ever pitchers decided to start throwing breaking balls.
