  1. Babe Ruth hit .420 lifetime off Jamie Moyer and Moyer was pitching until last year. You are probably right though.... But pitchers in the NL can hit modern pitching in the .200 range and that's with little training... I would imagine an old timie Ruth... With a good 6 months of modern training and some good bp, could hit pretty well.
  2. I would go with Bill Bergen. An oldie, but a real solid catcher, who could call a great game.
  3. I mentioned earlier. I listened to one Lansing game all year and they talked about Emilio for about 5 minutes straight. They were saying how the organization thinks so highly of him. Going on about how lanky he is and how he needs to fill out so much..... As to say, "but when he does...."
  4. AJ Jimenez had a decent debut. He got a hit and caught 2 guys attempting to steal.... I'd like to see him in TO.... love a good defensive catcher.
  5. He could sign for 4 or 5 million I would think next year. I wouldn't expect him to make more then that for awhile in Japan.
  6. I have a question. Can he play in the US, or move to the US now and play ball? Or does some Japanese club own his rights?
  7. I think I listened to one lugnuts game this year. They were speaking very highly of Emilio Guerrero... Their ss. Last night he was 6 for 6. I bet it must have been years since anyone in the jays system went 6 for 6. It seems he needs to put on about 40 or 50lbs.
  8. Honestly, instant replay is pretty damn exciting. It's always fun in football. It's always weird watching on tv.... The ump and the mangeger arguing.... It's almost like a guy on the bench could pause an IPad and run out on the field to settle the argument once and for all.
  9. A couple of things. The Rays biggest blessing (which I previously believed was their downfall), is they can never sign their stars back. They have almost no fans, so there is never pressure to sign some of their biggest names. Soooo, they always have to trade their stars away for prospects.... This approach, turns out to be the best approach IMO, because they always get the best years out of the stars anyway... don't have the burden of having to pay a BJ upton a tonne of money and usually at least one of their prospects in these trades pan out... giving them new stars, with lots of control. The new CBA and smarter GM's might hurt them going forward. I can't see GM's willing to pay the huge price much longer. The new draft compensation rules will give teams like the Rays fewer picks.
  10. I wonder if there are 57 hitters that all hit on the same day twice?
  11. I thought RR had a good outing. He fell a part and brought it back together.
  12. Velocity program... He will never had an arm issue again.
  13. At least he is staying in the game... grinding it out.
  14. That single today he had with 2 strikes on him was excellent... man that bat action has really tamed down.
  15. Pillar breaking out of a slump pretty big today... triple and double.
  16. Lucky for everyone... your opinion doesn't matter.
  17. They would be in last place. Staring pitching is the killer.
  18. Sure the article was fine. But who were we getting back by trading CJ?
  19. No, starting pitching has led to a wasted season.... that's 90% of it.
  20. Thanks for that promise... you're exactly right. If we won last night instead of lost, the season would be completely different.
  21. So you named 4 guys... who have made almost no difference between them and Derossa. And not that hard. I'm sure you would have been singing from the roof tops if back in December if AA signed Ryan Rayburn coming off a season where he ops'd .430 coming off 4 straight years of declining numbers.... I'm sure you completely called that rebound. Yeah I would definitely agree that hindsight is not that hard.
  22. Who is it you want to come to Toronto and sit on the bench?
  23. Who is going to be our 5 war player that is going to come to Toronto and sit on the bench?
  24. You're not going to get Mike Trout to come and sit on your bench.
