    Our rotation is essentially the same as last year, where we were terrible, but pitching depth is our strength. Um ok The Cardinals have pitching depth. The Rays have pitching depth. We have two legitimate starters, one guy who could be great but is one of the most unrealiable starters in the bigs, and heaps of fringe garbage. Great depth right there.

    "5/6 - Rogers, Happ, Redmond, Hutchison, Stroman, Nolin" -Rogers is a gascan -Happ is fine as a swingman or a spot starter, whatever -Redmond will clearly get hammered next year. 29 year old with marginal velocity and marginal stuff. Guy just throws fastballs down the heart of the plate 65-70% of the time. Will get hammered next year. -Hutch, Stroman, and Nolin are all question marks. "Depth" to me is being able to run out guys who can be relied on to give you 150+ innings of reasonable production. Maholm has gone 150+ innings in 8 straight seasons. He'd be a great get. Since 2006, Maholm is 65th in baseball in WAR. Not bad at all for a low price.

    We have absolutely horrible pitching depth. Signing someone like Maholm to compete for the 4th-5th spot would be an excellent idea.

    Gose isn't even that great of a defender. He has great closing speed but his jumps are average. His arm isn't useful if he's f***ing 7 hopping balls to the plate way up the third base line as well. He's a passable 4th OFer/ pinch runner who will be out of the league in 5 years.

    Do you really think Ubaldo is going to get 17 a year? 2/3 terrible seasons in the past 3 years. I don't see it happening. Maybe 13-14.

    I like DeRozan. Shooting % could be better but he can drive effectively and is a decent passer. Just cannot be a primary option.

    Take back what I said about Terrance Ross. He's grown on me a bit. Also, still can't believe JV is averaging < 30 MPG.

    USDCAD has traded within a very moderate range over the last 3 years... It is not a volatile exchange rate at all. To think that the Canadian dollar is going to collapse against US dollar is ridiculous. It's at 3.5 year low vs the USD now and it's still worth a reasonable amount. This is barely a relevant topic.
