  1. Nolin looks like a guy who should be given MORE time in the minors than most, not less. He lacks powerful stuff, meaning any potential success is going to be based on advanced command and pitchability, so he needs as much refinement as he can get.
  2. So about the game, does anyone else feel like we're gaining a reputation as one of the worst/most unruly fanbases in baseball? McLouth getting a drink thrown at him just for selling a catch was pretty embarrassing.
  3. [insert generic comment about "speed putting pressure on the defense"]
  4. Still think he's a solid 2/3 starter. Can't say the low strikeout rate isn't a little concerning, but I honestly don't see anything wrong with his stuff, just his command. I think at some point he'll have a stretch where he strings together three or four excellent starts in a row, and overall finish the year with a mid 3's ERA, and K/9 over 8. Nothing is really going right with our starters right now but at this point I'm still willing to wait it out.
  5. Wow they're getting hits in every possible way lol.
  6. These look like the Orioles of a couple years ago.
  7. Jays are winning this game but you wouldn't know it from reading this thread lol.
  8. I really thought JPA might draw a walk against Strop there. My heart was racing.
  9. Hey, it's what being a fan is all about.
  10. I was a fan of the Izturis signing and I think his offense will come around as his hits start to fall, but this unexpectedly shaky defense is becoming a problem. Still think he's the best option for the time being though. I was in and out watching this game but Buehrle looked like he was staying on the corners quite well, and came away with a very solid pitching line. Just needs to keep the home runs in check and he'll be fine. Janssen got BABIP'd in the ninth, with Longoria's Vladimir Guerrero style double and Loney's weak grounder through the middle, so I was glad to see him get picked up by his offense.
  11. Gotta keep the PGTs, they're my favourite threads to post in. Although you're slipping a bit on the editing; one of your scoring plays is from yesterday's game, and you misspelled Kawasaki. Missed most of this game but it looks like I jinxed Ramon Ortiz with this avatar. Or maybe he's just terrible. Could be either one
  12. So it seems that Ricky Romero is continuing to be Ricky Romero.
  13. I'm pretty sure Wells has only been booed this year, with the Yankees.
  14. Lol Jurrjens. Remember when people wanted to trade for him a couple offseasons ago, and the Braves were looking for a "Greinke-type package"?
  15. If only your offensive depth was as s***** as mine, then you could've started him at Util.
  16. It's a nice story the way the 2012 Orioles were a nice story.
  17. Lol Baltimore re-took the lead.
  18. Yeah, but I also wouldn't mind seeing Overbay and Wells crash back down to earth.
  19. I think you mean to say Morrow has declined, not regressed. Anyay, it doesn't matter what they've done so far, what matters is what kind of performance you expect from them going forward. JJ isn't a 6 ERA pitcher lol.
  20. Wow Cobb has ace-like numbers this year. Haven't actually watched him pitch yet this year, all I know is that BTS is a massive fanboy of his.
  21. Good to see them finally capitalize on a bases loaded opportunity, especially with two outs. Tough outing for Janssen but whatever, everyone has their off days. Odorizzi's curveball was pretty nice, but his fastball looks really straight so I expect he'll be prone to giving up home runs. Like every Rays pitcher though, he showed good polish and command so he'll probably be at least a decent #4. They never have any Drabeks who can't find the strike zone, or McGowans who can't stay on the mound.
  22. Kinsler DL'd, Profar called up. http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20130519&content_id=48006740&vkey=news_mlb&c_id=mlb
  23. Losses to the Yankees really are all the same...
  24. I'd love to join in on the JPA bashing but I've accepted that as long as he's on a 25 HR pace nothing will be done.
