  1. Didn't actually realize that. Obviously worth noting the SSS though.
  2. Lol I like Brandon McCarthy, but I can't help but enjoy anything that contributes to the failure of fatcow's fantasy team. He is still winning this week though.
  3. 8 shutout innings on only 88 pitches for Brandon McCarthy, but Kirk Gibson goes to Heath Bell in the 9th, who promptly blows the save.
  4. Great to get the series and road trip win, but next weekend's series in New York is going to be every bit as important as this one.
  5. Somehow Jenkins actually seems like a good option after seeing Ramon Ortiz get a start.
  6. Seems like it was Buehrle's decision to come out, but I really thought he could have gotten through the 8th fine. The leadoff walk was more due to Ross having a great at bat and fouling off a couple good pitches, plus Oliver hasn't been the way he was last year. Might be time to demote him in the bullpen, and give the 8th to Cecil or Delabar.
  7. Agreed, and the annoying part of this is that players like that aren't difficult to acquire at all. Jonny Gomes and Scott Hairston were readily available in the offseason (and ended up signing for cheap), and of course there are guys like Blanks who could probably be had for very little if you actually make the effort to find and pursue them.
  8. Nobody can deny he's been bad this year, but career numbers still matter. For a guy with his track record of consistency it's pretty dumb to write him off after a bad month, and laughable to consider him worse than Ramon Ortiz.
  9. Lol stop quoting him, I just put him on ignore to get away from his awful posts.
  10. One more out and it would have been worth paying attention to.
  11. I really want Overbay to go back to being terrible.
  12. Lol gsnarls I'm pretty sure people are already watching this game. In fact there might even be a thread about it.
  13. Losing to division rivals can be pretty irritating, particularly this year when there were actually expectations. But I know it's out of my control so I can usually brush it off pretty quickly. For games like the one tonight, I just do my best to remove my personal attachment to the team and watch it like any other baseball game.
  14. Looks like the Blue Jays are as enthusiastic about this game as the posters in this thread.
  15. Time for the traitor John Farrell to bow before the mighty Ramon Ortiz!
  16. He doesn't do it nearly as much as he used to though.
  17. Don't worry, everyone likes you better when you're not posting "LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL" and "XDDDDDDDDDDDDDD" every ten seconds.
  18. So I guess we should assume Happ will be out at least six weeks.
  19. That's not true. I remember when you posted on a Cardinals forum and you definitely didn't have many nice things to say
  20. Lincoln is probably the best option if they want to make someone into a Carlos Villa type. Problem is Lincoln doesn't have a third pitch so he'd have to have very good command just to get through 5 innings.
  21. Kazmir looking pretty good today; no runs, no walks, 8 K's through five innings.
  22. It's almost like Rasmus' swing is too quick, if that makes any sense. His amazing bat speed allows to hit the ball incredibly hard when he actually makes contact, but he just commits on his swing so early which makes susceptible to literally any pitch with late movement on it. He's basically the polar opposite of a guy like Kawasaki who always keeps his hands back as long as possible in order to make contact.
